One point in your life, acting like everything is ok is not gonna work. Even if they don’t mean to hurt you, that does not make the pain any easier. It can cause emotional scars or even physical ones.

Smolder learns this and Sandbar learns this the hard way

Inspired by actual events I endured when I was in middle and high school. I thought my friend cared about me but all I got from them were bruises

“You better remember….” Smolder let his wrists go before shoving him against the wall again. She turned to grab her backpack and then stormed off “See ya later…”

Smolder Don't you think that was a little harsh I'm sure he didn't mean to make you upset

The Hippogriff nodded happily “he’s great! Last letter he sent, he was planning his date with Gabby”

Aww thats cute 😍

Boy thats sad and it's been going on lately between these two it's kind of sad seen this kind of situation between friends I'm sure smolder didn't mean to hurt him but sometimes she gets carried away and thinking that she's just playing around but she's actually hurting him and that's very wrong for sandbar I really felt bad for him and you really need to speak out because it's a very unhealthy relationship like that and they need to talk about this hopefully they can salvage whatever is left of their friendship this was a pretty good story and I'm very sorry to hear you're going through like that as well

Will there be a sequel to this? This story so good, there needs to be more a aftermath chapter.

I'm glad you allowed Smolder to have that moment of realization at the end there--so many other writers probably would've just left Smolder unrepentant or the story ending in such a way that any chance of reparations, or even an attempt at them, seem unlikely. But as it often use, abuse is more nuanced and layered like that, and there are genuine instances where it can happen without the abuser intending it to come out as such, and it's important to remember that and the other styles of abuse can take the shape of if you ever really intend to try and put a stop to it...or else instances of it will slip through the cracks that really shouldn't.

That said, I do feel like Smolder ends up portrayed just slightly out of character here for the sake of the plot. Not a lot, just enough to take notice of it, and part of me wishes her form of abuse was a bit more subtle, especially as that's a thing too. But given the intended motivations and overall message of the fic, that's a minor point I can overlook for the sake of that.

Really well done story. 5 stars.

Sorry to keep you waiting.
A sequel? I haven’t thought of it before but it’s a good idea! I wasn’t expecting it to be good!

Hey, I’m really sorry for not replying back sooner. I really appreciate you honest opinion about Smolder’s character. If I may ask, would you have any advice or recommendations for what I can do better for a future story?
