Upon discussing and deciding on retirement, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are caught off guard by the answers to their offer extended to Twilight Sparkle for ruling Equestria.
Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Spike have got Twilight's back whatever she decides. Some friends are more open to taking an active role in ruling too.
Discord is around too though he doesn't do much.

If we could avoid using the word "stupid," that would be much appreciated. While I grew up using it the way you did here, I have since learned over the past few years that it is considered an ableist slur toward disabled people with cognitive impairments. I avoid using that word as much as possible these days.
I think if you found Ending C too absurd, that is perfectly fine, why I used that word, and I knew I ran that risk for some readers.
As for the "meh" on the B ending, well..."meh" right back at you.
I'm glad you found some merit in Ending A at least.

As someone with Autism, I've not heard that bit. Maybe stupid wasn't the right word, but Ending C made so little sense, that Discord is jealous.
Probably boils down to Rarity and Rainbow don't really come across as princess material. I give it 2 days before they muck it all up and Twilight takes over.

I actually think Rarity would be a fine princess. She has expressed interest in being one early on in the series and is shown to be charming, tactful, and generally helpful. As for Rainbow Dash, I agree it would take a lot of work to put her on the same caliber of someone like Princess Celestia, but that's why I made her the Luna parallel instead.
I really do think, sincerely, she would be competent and fit well enough into a role of protecting ponies in their dreams with guidance from Luna. There is even a fanfic about this idea called Dreamwalker Dash. I haven't gotten around to reading it in full, but I do very much like the concept. Rainbow Dash has been shown throughout the series to have a good bond with younger ponies who look up to her, and younger ponies are who we often see in the dream-walking sequences with Luna in past episodes as well.

I do not have such a low opinion of either Rarity or Rainbow Dash to make that conclusion.
Part of the joke is the unexpectedness of it even though bits of the preceding segments actually foreshadow C's conclusion.
But I really do think of both those characters as plenty capable. While I have no doubt challenges would be faced and mistakes would be made, I still think they could do well enough.

I agree that twilight staying in her castle was much better. What the point of giving her a big fancy castle if they are just going have her move to the capital city. Considering she almost had a panic attack when she found she was a princess it's amazing that she handled becoming a ruler so well.
