Why not for the Barrad but for the Dread league I want them to be a big threat for everyone and for William. Since they already have their Queen and I think the civil war can be complicated because if I remember, Maledicta is the only necromancer in the dread league who is a living being, and plus in the late game she becomes an undead herself so... yeah a little complicated. But the idea is good.

I never gave myself a proper long time to play the Equestria at War mod sadly, So my first hand knowledge experience is well poor, only played half an hour since I never gave Paradox the DLC money... So I couldn't last long without the DLC improvements in multiplayer, also the vanilla a.i sucked.
Ok I really enjoy nation building story’s such as the griffons rise, Rise of the Crystal emperor, DOOM of Griffonstone! and Skeletor, master of the empire so I’m going to be tracking this immediately
The Kasa Free States would be interesting you could say that you are trying to unite all species under one flag which you could possibly use as some sort of leverage to make yourself look like your in the right or something Along those lines.
Asturland would also be cool because most or at least story’s I’ve seen that have deer’s in it use the fall off Equestria version but I haven’t played the mod so maybe they do act like this
Idk if the mc is trying to take over the world or are they going to be doing it for the betterment of the people but either way I’m fine with both.
I haven’t written a story before or played this mod so maybe what I have said makes no sense so take what I say with a pinch of salt
Edit: where can I find this mod so I can at least learn something from my lack of understanding.

I also like the nation's building story, that's why I wanted to do that with the mod. Also, all you have said make sense, even if these deers are more like Vikings with a jarl and are not really like the deers in the normal Equestria if I can say that. And for the world conquest, well, let's just in all the path he will try to unite at least Griffonia.

As a crackfic thought, how about Nova Griffonia in the wake of the assassination of Governor Teafeather? He could try to keep the colony out of the hands of the military while fending off the advances of an oversexed griffon politician that wants to add William to his lists of sexual escapades?

It's a good idea but I want him to be in Griffonia because I don't want the character to have problems with the changelings and Equestria when he will try to expand. Plus on Griffonia, you have more opportunities and with the plot of the story I will make a thing which looks like the UN but you know how Griffonia will quickly not respect the treaties and all the other things. But if the character is in Equus, he will have restrictions because of the Equestrian influence and I don't think the others griffons nations will help him.

I say go with Non-Aligned. Has the most potential for the story, and that William showed lean more to the Monarchy.

Normally in the game, you would choose other ideology, with the exception if there were good advantages from the tree, events, mods, etc
Non-Aligned still has versatility.
Also, Harmony isn't a democracy.
Cadence is the princess of Crystal Empire, Celestia and Luna are too, etc
If I remember right in the tree there was a path to make it a real democracy
Harmony is just a Fascism, monarchy sprinkled with glitter to sound nicer, give the illusion that it's different when it's not

Yeah, I know Harmonic countries are not really democratic that why I said not entirely like to say not really. Well, if I take Griffonia, I know there some countries where if you take the harmonic path you have something like some elections but the mode made the elections only by events.
