Fire Soul

Ah...it's good to write.

T

The CMC have grown up, and their friends, the Mane Six, have all passed on for one reason or another. How has this effected them? Some have handled it better than others. What can be said for sure is that it is never something that they can let go of easily.

Awesome story, you should seriously be a writer when you grow up :rainbowdetermined2:

very nice story! cant wait to read more... im tearing up here! :raritycry::raritydespair::raritycry:

Aww wonder how Rarity died. She always loved Sweetie Belle so much. And it was obvious she did as well.

I'm glad everypony likes it so far! It's meant to be as sad as I can get it without it being ridiculous and unrealistic. Here's to hoping that I pull it off!

@BellaWonderfulPony: I'm 24 years old. :trixieshiftright:

This is really sweet :fluttercry: I like the way you portrayed Sweetie Belle as an adult, it just seems fitting.

Just wondering, how old are the CMC now, and how many years has it passed since the series?

That's difficult to answer. See, in the show, the age of ANYPONY is utterly ambiguous. Some days Twilight and the Mane Six seem like they're only in their teens, maybe sixteen or seventeen, while other days they seem like they're in their twenties, early twenties even. Since they all seem to run their own business (Applejack and Rarity) and live where they work (Rarity, Applejack, Twilight, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie....), I assume they're of legal age. So, now, the CMC are around 27-29 years of age. 'That's mah story an' ah'm stickin' to it! :ajsmug:'

72916 in the show twilight is 17, AJ is 20, fluttershy is 19, pinkie pie is 18, rarity is 21 and rainbow dash is 19 as well, at least thats what I read but I can't remember where I'll try to find it and tell you where but ya thats their ages.

BTW great story keep it up:twilightsmile:

Well, Lauren Faust once said that they were young adults. That's all we know of.

At least what's the age difference?

According to some college students in a very formal paper based off of what Lauren Faust said in an interview, their ages are based on the standard equine age. So, in other words, they are anywhere between 4-4.9 years of age, or 18-22 years of age. This varies though depending on who does the calculations. Yet, I don't like sitting on the idea that they're only around 4-5 years old, which is the age of physical maturity for equines. Personally, I would rather not touch the subject of age, but apparently I have to with this story.

If you'd like to see the document I'm referencing: http://www.scribd.com/doc/59198693/MLP-Age-Determination

Honestly? I'd rather stick with human years, because unless the show says explicitly how old they are? The thought of them being sexually mature at FOUR YEARS OF AGE just doesn't sit well with me as a reader and a writer, because of how humanized they are. :unsuresweetie:

There are several comments in the show that suggest the ponies age significantly slower than real equines. Such as how Apple Bloom and Applejack do the Sisterhooves Social "every year" suggests that they've been in the competition probably at least three years. Then since she's still just a filly, you can assume an equal number of years probably passed before she was old enough to participate the first time. So Apple Bloom must be at least 5 or 6, probably older, but isn't an adult yet.

And then Twilight made the comment about "all the years" Princess Celestia had been her teacher, which started when she was already somewhere around Apple Bloom's age. And if she was at least 5 or 6 before even starting school under Celestia, it's a pretty good bet it would last for more than just a few years. So while all of that is pretty vague, "all the years" + "every year" + years when too young to do stuff, convinces me that Twilight must be at least 9 or 10 years old, with conservative numbers for those two comments. Almost certainly quite a bit more than that, too, since both of those vague amounts of time could potentially be more like 5-10 years each.

There's probably some other clues in there too, like how the CMCs haven't gotten any bigger in however much time has passed during the show so far. In any case, definitely slower than normal equines.

I'm a sucker for these kinds of stories.:pinkiesad2::fluttercry::applecry::raritycry: I would like to see more.
