The described car is a bit too new for me. I drive an older car and had some problems with it over the years, but I also learn how to fix it myself (as long as it does not require very special tools or a pit in the garage).
Most of the problems for me are rust, bad rubber part or a bad electrical connection. Right now, though, the car is in for an engine rebuild (first time) because it was burning too much oil and failed inspection because of that (among other things)..
The alleged car strangles her will to live over and over and over again. Reminds of a 1968 black-white truck and a red Cadillac my dad used to own, among other numerous vehicles over the years.
Throughly lovely story. The non-linear, scattered subplots of each car problem felt like the right approach. And the ending gag is just perfect. Not eveb Sunset can put the dead (car) to rest.

The worst part of the "gag" was in real life, that actually happened. I ended up refunding the buyer a bit of money to keep my good seller rating. It really was comedically unreliable.

So there's a horror version where Sunset sells the car, only for it to be parked in her driveway the next day...
