First contact has been made, successfully, and the strange equine creature known as Twilight Sparkle had assured us that we would be welcome to cement relations with Earth with an embassy in Canterlot.

Been working on this one as a twice-monthly commission for quite some time. Canary (the person paying for it) asked that I start publishing.
So here it is. Enjoy!

PS: This story has nothing to do with Dana's comics. It is strictly MLP and Earth.
Is that... the unicorn comic lady?
9793615 Yes.
It is 'your', not 'you are'.
I am faving this, and will be waiting for the updates to come.
9793619
what's the other tag for? too many characters to list?
if so, we gonna see any m7 in this story?
9793643 Fixed, thanks!
9793657 I tag for the majority of the story's contents, and while there's a LOT of canon characters going to show up in this, none of them are central parts of the story. The
Other
tag is because I am going to be using a lot of such characters.9793668
so too many characters to list, gotcha

You're welcome!
Off to a great start. I really like First Contact stories, so it'll be interesting to see this take on the Second Contact story.
Also, well-established and interesting human characters? What are you trying to write here, a good story?
I want to ask questions, but it turns out that they're all about rectifying MLP with MHN. I never thought I would see this, and I'm literally giddy with joy.
Heck. Favourited.
the most unbelievable thing in this story is the pony's its how nice the president of the us is
Clever lad, that rig could easily run into the thousands with the truly extravagant components.
Oi! Saffron, don't forget your power supply! They don't have as advanced an electrical grid, you'll have to bring your own.
9793885
I stand by my enthusiasm. Just know that my perception of the behaviour of unicorns in this world will be altered.
9793904 Fair, but isn't Celestia basically already Marigold? The eccentricity? The *heavenly* nostrils? Their love for fine dining?
9793929
The grumpy sister?
9793933 See!
Following this. Not favoring it... yet. We'll see how it goes, but looking good so far.
9794192 All I can promise is that there will be a LOT more ponies soon!
Phoebe and Her Unicorn? I see you're an author of culture as well.
There's something delightfully disconcerting about a girl calling the president "Uncle Jeff."
"There was a king, but he exploded."
"Though not having to deal with fingers is a welcome change of pace."
In any case, definitely looking forward to seeing where you go with this.
Oh I recognized the art style, Ozy and Millie was one of my first webcomics I found after getting Internet access in the early 2000s.
And I am hooked for the story the first chapter made me hungry for more of this world.

So canon Equestria has established relations with other dimensions?
And by alluding to Equestria Girls you've closed off the last avenue to call this an AU. At the very least, it has fewer divergences from canon than your last story. (I originally meant that to be talking about the one your current avatar is from, but it still applies to the Cheesy trilogy)
9794857
The "other dimension" in question is the EQG-verse that they really ought to get around to establishing proper diplomatic relations with anyway. Between that and Twilight's ethereal mane, all I'm seeing is logical extrapolations of what would happen after the show ended, which in my eyes don't warrant an AU tag.
9793859
To be fair, this is implicitly the guy who came after the current incumbent, and at the very least explicitly not Trump.
Another story by Damaged, always worth a follow.
So...saffron you do realize your moving to a country where everyone is naked all the time and starting at someone's ass..er flank isn't considered nearly as rude as back home....I wonder how long 'it's a pony ' will be logic enough to keep your eyes to yourself
This kid is pretty good at deciding what is the priorities of the negotiation.
One bit that is concerning is how after two chapters two of the protagonists, Clair and Phillip Ree, are totally unlikable. The fact that they have to go to another dimension makes sense. That the entire family must go there for Earth's Ambassador to be considered "valid" makes no damn sense. Why not send staff, instead of children? Plus there is the fact they don't know anything about what this will do to them, instead of being some well-tested magical routine proven to have no side effects. Plus there is the fact that the parents are veing very cruel to their own child. They tell Saffron it is his decision, and then effectively not allow him a choice. By telling him it is extremely important and they ALL need to go or it is ruined, they are bullying him into complying. They give him q choice to not go, and when he obviously doesn't want to they force him to comply via peer preassure. They give him q choice, only to take it away from him so they can do something that makes no logical sense. Really, I hope the children never cross over, and if they do they are sent back and the transformation reversed. These people are commiting so many ethical violations with this it isn't funny.
Edit: so far its been a dissapointment, because them forcing Saffron against his will overshadows it.
Looks interesting so far.

I have to agree. I get why sending the family over together though. They don't know if it's going to be reversible, so having the entire family match each other is a must. The kids are still dependents as well, so they have to go as well since the mom and dad are going. Dad has to go because four-ten years with pretty much no contact is basically having your loved one go to prison. The kids would have to go because it's that, or live with relatives/under government care. Scaffron could theoretically still back out if it takes a year, and he turns 18 before they are set to leave.
My main complaint isn't that they've basically bullied him into doing it, rather he's too happy about going for JUST a gaming rig which will be out dated by next year with no new games ever. Unless he installs every single game ever, which would cost in the upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars, he'd run out fairly quickly.
This is basically the same situation you'd run into as colonizing mars. You'd have little to no contact with earth for the first while, no new goods unless you produced them yourself, and any family and friends you leave behind you may never see again. Riley is too young to realize this, but I feel Scaffron should've fought a little harder before caving, and still sulked about it afterwards. He's trading his life for a computer after all.
Does anyone else find it comical that the presumable, younger sibling has far better grammar than the older, near-adult sibling? I do:
