First contact has been made, successfully, and the strange equine creature known as Twilight Sparkle had assured us that we would be welcome to cement relations with Earth with an embassy in Canterlot.

Flurry, if you could have any stallion, alive or dead, fictional or non, who would it be?
Two updates a week apart! Young Fliers Competition!! SAF GOT HIS CUTIE MARK!!!
I started hyperventilating when I saw another update and I don't think I stopped while reading.
If equestria has bauxite commonly in the ground like earth seems to, it'd probably be cheaper to refine it there because of the easy electricity generation.
I felt actually happiness for Saf when he got his Cutie Mark. Thanks for the mood boost
Nice chapter.
Saf, since you gained your cutie mark now, does this mean you cannot turn back to human form anymore? I mean, like your dad?
11134708 Glad to hear it.
A crazy flying stunt? You came within spitting distance of going full No Name Assassin on the judging panel... and much like the No Name Assassin was rejected because she had merely imitated those who had come before, your cutie mark only came when you forged your own path. Because, of course, "your own path" is exactly what a cutie mark is. (And Dash herself was Cloud Seeder's age if not older by the time she could do a Rainboom on purpose)
Awesome chapter
wow a amazing chapter and the time skip's just work so good.
i am so in love with this story.
I have to admit, I'm starting to wonder if Saf'll have to deal with a Sudden Flurry soon....

You know how Rainbow Dash only ever touches the ground for long enough to recover from a crash? Saff is clearly written as only slightly less obsessed with flight and therefore has absolutely zero interest in ever being human again.
Thats an awful lot of amps from such a small pony.
Wonder how badaboom they could get from The Full Anvil.
11135617 The numbers are quite real. That's a small-to-average lightning bolt.
Nice time skip. Saff gets to at least have a relationship now, even if he still has to look up to some thirty years of being underage yet.
How old is Sudden, again? I know it's ok now that he entered puberty, but I'm curious. Wasn't it something in between 50~60?
Spitfire, the Wonderbolts really: how does it feel dealing with Saffron Ree, knowing he's mentally an adult, a promising flyers but still going to be too young for some thirty years yet? Is there an age limit to joining or will he be in a weird "you're good enough for us but you're just too young for it not to be weird as Tartarus yet" for a couple decades, if he continues to improve?
Or if another ancient empire pops up and is in need of a ruler. You could also look into becoming a diarchy like your aunts, with perhaps a more mother/daughter bend to things rather than a sisterly one your aunts have.
To Clair: The subject of Thorax, king of the changelings, has come up which raised an interesting point: What is the US government's overall opinion on changelings, given their diet and abilities?
Usually I not mention such minor things like a lower or upper case mistake but in this case I was not able to decide this is a bad pun or just a mistake. Eventually I realized this is just a simple autocorect error. The "Turned" should be lower case.
11139340 Please never worry about troubling me. This was probably just a brainfart when used to writing Sudden Turn and I wanted Sudden turned. Thank you!
11134646 The live one, duh.
Yay on Saf getting his cutie mark! Whoot! That was just how a certain multichromatic showoff got hers!

Yep, for lightning, it's the voltage that truly makes them impressive. At those levels, "insulators" like air and rubber start to break down and simply become "ordinary resistors".
BTW, at those levels, "ordinary resistors" break down and become "ordinary conductors"--and it's a good idea to remember to try NOT to be one of those when dicking around with lightning. People tend to make very good conductors when a million volts or more are applied.
