Sharing Kindness

I ran from the Club house, almost forgetting why I was running in the first place. They can't catch me, i-if they do I... I don't what will really happen, but it can't be exactly good.

To think so much has happened in just a few days, I went from confusion to pure joy and then from curiosity to in a coma. So here I am now, trotting through the rain in a body that isn't mine towards Celestia knows what!

The rain, cold and harsh droplets cascaded down on me without mercy. The wind whipping in my face on top of it, I could barely see ten feet in front of me. I could see a small sign, stopping near it I could make out "Town Park" with an arrow pointing in the direction I was headed.

As my luck would have it, the park is sufficiently large enough to hide in as long as I can find shelter. My head throbbed with a growing headache, and the loud thunder wasn't exactly helping it either. I grew tired as I moved on, both emotionally and physically; things weren't looking up for me.

I stopped for a moment to try and grasp the situation as well as my surroundings, it was almost a fruitless effort until I spotted a park bench I could hide under. Quickly dashing for cover, I ducked under the bench and gave a sigh of slight relief.

For shelter, it wasn't much... But it would have to do; I had to lay down to stay comfortable, but the ground was wet and now so was my under side. "What a bother..." I huffed. Frankly, I didn't know what I'd do tomorrow... But right now it didn't really matter, for I'll I know I could die in this storm.

Through the wind, I could faintly hear something... Or somepony even.
"Scoot-" The voice faded. In and out I could make out certain words, "Where, Scootaloo, please be okay, oh Luna" random assortments I could piece together as somepony looking for me, desperately at that.

My eyes began to water as thought about Fluttershy again, and how much I'd miss her.
"Scootaloo?!" The voice got closer this time, sounding like the mentioned timid pegasus. Is she really looking for me?

"F-Fluttershy?" I wiped tears from my eyes and sniffled while a figure slowly came into view. "Scootaloo what are doing out here?!" Now in full view, it was indeed Fluttershy; said Element of Kindness was now yelling at me, and I turned away in tears.

"Oh dear... Come over here, there's better cover close by." I reluctantly crept out from my pseudo shelter and followed the yellow mare where ever she was taking me.

The shelter was in fact the Ponyville Library, standing strong amongst the storm. We trotted in with a not-so-surprised Twilight Sparkle holding the door open with her magic.

"I saw you two from the window, is everything alright now?" I didn't look her in her eyes, this actually the first time I've seen her since my coming to Equestria.

"For the most part... I'm just glad I found Scootaloo in one piece!" I looked at Fluttershy, who gave me a worried expression.

Twilight gestured us to sit at a near-by table, while she walked into the kitchen for whatever reason. Just as I did Twilight, I avoided direct eye-contact with Fluttershy.

"Scootaloo..." My expression hardened, but softened again at the sight of the mare in front of me.

"Y-yes?" I bit my lip, I could feel anxiety rising.

"Why did you run away from the hospital? Were you afraid of something, like your father being upset over flying with Rainbow Dash, or-" I cut her off, not wanting to beat around the bush anymore.

"My father's in jail Fluttershy, I live at the Cutie Mark Crusader's club house and it was the first place I thought about running to..." There's no running now, though I realized I'm not speaking for Scootaloo anymore... I'm pouring my own heart out.

"W-well that explains that, b-but what about... Your mother?" The tears came without warning, and my throat tightened up. She acted quickly, coming to my side and tenderly wrapping her hooves and wings around me.

I felt safer in that moment, like nothing could happen to me. I wanted to stay here forever, warm and loved in an embrace... I cried harder, huffing and puffing into Fluttershy's chest as felt her nuzzling the top of my head.

"Shhh... It's okay Scootaloo, calm down..." I was having an anxiety-attack, shudders rippling down my body as my heart raced; you wouldn't understand unless you've had one, but it feels like I'm dying on the spot.

"Do you feel like telling me about your mom now Scootaloo?"

"... I can't." Here it comes.

"Why's that?" Her embrace tightened, granting me an even greater sense of safety.

"I-I don't have one." I sank my face into her chest, crying deeply gripping her for dear life.

"Oh, Scootaloo..." I could hear her starting to weep as well, and it was in that moment that Twilight walked back in.

"Spike, get the tissues please." Even the Element of Magic was getting emotional... I can't blame her.

"Right away Twilight!"

We stayed in that embrace for quite some time, even falling asleep on the floor. We laid there, with Fluttershy's wings shielding me from whatever the world could throw at us; I wouldn't replace this moment for anything, it was as if... As if...

"F-Fluttershy?..." I looked up at her, my eyes bloodshot from consistent crying.

"Yes?" She looked back at me, her smile radiating the very warmth and kindness she represents.

"... Will you be my mommy?" The room remained silent as the world around us seemed to slow.

"I'd love to Scootaloo." She nuzzled my head again, planting a kiss on my forehead.

Dreams really do come true in the end, it seems.

"I-I love you mommy."

THE END

Author's Note:

It was a fun ride, and I'd like to dedicate this story to my deceased mother of whom passed away on September the 23rd this year. Her death severely impacted this story and it's outcome, although I've only met her once in my life.

Thank you all for reading, have a nice day and soon-to-be Merry Christmas and other holidays you may celebrate! <3

what happened to the real scootaloo is she in rusty's body?

I'll put it this way, either you can play it safe and believe she and Rusty became one and the same...
Or you can take the fun train and assume I'll make another story about what happened to her :trollestia:
In truth I might add an epilogue to tie up loose ends :ajsmug:1782978

2644740, True. In fact, "startotipical" doesn't mean anything at all. :raritywink: (I think you meant to say "stereotypical".)
