Well, that concludes this first series of narrow gauge stories! I'm taking a break from this to focus on other projects, but I will be coming back to this, as well as writing some standard gauge stories.
Have fun, and keep steaming everypony!

What was wrong with the suggestion of Engine I gave for Dinky?

What did you suggest?

9244679
I suggested a Kerr Stuart 0-4-0 Wren with a tender

My error
I'll amend the image momentarily.

I wonder if the worst would be a shale mine for Tarterus. All that abrasive dust and binding kerrageen? With high sulphur content makes for an extremely mechanically and chemically corrosive enviroment?

It probably would be. Either way, the conditions would be hellish. I just wonder why Equestria doesn't put all the creatures down there to work, as slave labour?

The narrow-gauge steam locomotive, despite their size, is the most remarkable vehicle on land. And, the engines of the Ponyville Narrow-Gauge Railway, are the power behind the industries and sightseeing that make up their beautiful line. This, is “Narrow Gauge Engines”!

I'll make that the description of the first volume if you don't mind. I'll credit you!

Only if you can tell me where the idea of it came from first... :raritywink:

It's the opening of Tugs, TTTEs sister series. It was created by David Mitton and Robert D. Cordona, and ran for 13 episodes from 1988-9. Many of the models produced were some of the most technogically advanced LAA models ever made, and found regular use in TTTE after Tugs concluded. One of them, Big Mickey, is now a character in TTTE. The opening narration, read by Patrick Allen, is fondly remembered by children of the 1980s, and formed the basis for the opening narration of Sodor Pony Railway Adventures.

If it interests you, the original Tugs models (those that still exist) can be seen on display at the Midland Railway Centre in Derbyshire.

Magnificently said! It’s all yours. :pinkiehappy:

Rest In Peace, David Mitton. :ajsleepy:

It's been 10 years since he passed on.
Here's something sobering:
