I don't understand why they made the 80s turtles be like that when they were fine as they were in the original series... I still don't understand why you had them be like how Nick did... It just seems unfair when the 1997 turtles from Saban's "Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation" were more like goof offs.

10326704 In the 80s slapstick was a big part of their fighting style, but now in a more modern and more violent setting their slapstick antics wouldn't be enough to stop stronger versions of the enemies they knew. Basically blame the way 80s cartoons were when they didn't want to be as violent

I just blame the producers for making the 80s not as good as I remmeber from the first couple of seasons and Turtles forever that they did use their weapons in their fight.
For Casey getting his rib broken and kicked out of the episode, I hated that too.
