The story kinda lost its appeal after it turned into them just coming over and having sex instead of the thrill and interesting way of doing it as a surprise to them through the doll. Story kinda lost what made it different in the sea of smut.

This is exactly it for me as well. It felt like the author suddenly got worried that a voodoo sex doll would be too dark without consent and very quickly steered the story away from that and into something completely "safe", but at the same time very mundane. What's the point in having the doll when they pretty much stop using it the moment the Mane 6 find out about it? Not to mention their reaction is extremely mild - it basically boils down to "Oh, okay, cool, let's just have sex normally now whenever instead".
As twisted as it sounds, I came to this story hoping for the "ghost rape" angle, and Flutterheart going overboard with the doll and basically fucking half the town, as these sorts of magical utilities tend to go. Instead, it turned into a lukewarm slice of life with a lot of plain sex in it with little real buildup or explanation.

I personally agree with metalgurd, the doll/ ghost sex thing made it stand out. Especially how it is done in the first character. Right now the doll feels like a lacklustre afterthought.

Though if you plan for the doll to become alive sort of or get its own personality than im hooked again
