The question is, is Shinning Armors shield up and if is can it survive all those bombs?

I didn't think about that, actually. I mostly concentrated on the atmosphere in a middle of an aerial battle, I didn't want to dig that deep into showing the actual result of the bombardment. However, as much as I understand the lore, even the most powerful unicorn can be tired due to the great stress and energy consumption. So the shield could deflect some of the blasts, but also let the other ones through. Just a thought.

True but at the same time there is also Cadence and Twilight, who are also powerful and the only reason Shinning Armors spell failed was because Chrysalis was draining him and putting him under his control. Not saying that the shield wouldn't fail but combined with everything else the damage would more then likely be minimum. It will also depend on how many bomber made it through. You didn’t indicate how many but from the radio chatter not many made it to there targets. Most seemed to have been shot down or had to turn around due to damage. I could be off but that what I seemed to read. Sorry if I seemed to be nitpicking, I’m not really. After all, this is the perspective of the pilot, not the reader or the overall battle and you did it well. This was still an interesting story and would read it again.

I totally understand your point, mate. But, as I said, I was concentrating on pilot's thoughts, not the damage. And by the way, I'm not really a brony, just a military man that has some ideas, so maybe that has its effect, too. Thanks for your opinion -- I want to get better anyways, so your comment can count as a good lesson for me.

No problem and again, I'm not trying to downplay what you wrote. Its a good first person story and I'm interested in what else you might think up. I'm a military history buff myself and though my interests lie more with the American Civil War. I also like to look up more on the WWI though I know enough to about WWII and the Cold War to get through a conversation if need be
