And yeah, I was trying to cover a few of the...well, I won't go so far as to call them plot-holes exactly, but plot conveniences perhaps that lead to Tempest having a nearly uncontested victory. No Shining Armor, no guards, Celestia not only never using magic, but apparently turning away from Tempest (seeing how she got hit in the side while talking to Luna).
As for the way Tempest took down Luna...yeah, once the plan was revealed, that just seems like an enormously stupid move. That would not have been a fun conversation to have with the Storm King, how despite the fact that she was offered almost no opposition at all, she still managed to screw it all up.
