You have my thanks! Hopefully you get caught up quickly! I'm working on new content as we speak!
OK I have finished act 3 and I have to say... it was fine. It had a slow start and made use of an annoying trope but it ended strong. If I had to rank each act I would go:
1 > 2 > 3
Now despite how that looks I'm not saying the story has steadily declined in quality just that there were aspects of 2 & 3 I really didn't enjoy. Hopefully Act 4 turns out better.

You're not the only one. If I hadn't gotten the notification for the interlude coming up I never would have noticed.
That said, not entirely satisfying, but it ended about how I expected. Definitely saw Sunset nearly giving into the demon from a mile away and figured it'd be Twilight that stopped her, but I thought it'd be a cluster fight instead of just Sunset that took Adagio down. Either way the outcome is the same. I don't recall Moondancer having access to the journal at any point, but I have so many ongoing readings that small details escape me, so it's possible I overlooked it, but it seems much to deus ex for me.
All that said, Rainbow should have been more than capable enough on her own to take down Adagio, especially considering she can move far faster than anybody can react to, magic or not. Adagio had already shown that, while certainly better than Sunset, it's not by enough of a margin that she would even be able to consider keeping up with Rainbow's movements. That's near Flash level speeds, and Adagio, while certainly powerful, is not ungodly fast. Sure, that would have hurt the impact of the following scene, but it's really hard to suspend disbelief when, immediately after Sonata goes down, Aria feels like she teleported because Dash pulled her to safety.

Moondancer was established as having her own journal a couple of chapters ago. She met up with the Princess and acquired one.
Dash has speed, yes, but remember to maintain such a high level of speed through a prolonged fight... It would be insanely exhausting and Rainbow was taking care of stuff downstairs.
That being said, expect Act IV to be drastically different. The overall tone changes and there is a far less focus on action. We're kind of going back to drama. It will be more similar to Act I in that regard. There are no fights, no magic battles, no conspiracies, none of that in Act IV, instead, there is a centralized conflict that finally gets addressed. We don't get back into action heavily until Act VI (and a little of Act V, but I can't explain that without spoilers).
Act VII will be the biggest act of the entire story easily. And that is where everything sort of melts together and we get to see the bigger payoffs.
I hope you guys enjoy Act IV as it's going to be one of my favorites to write. I have been staring at the notes for Act IV with eagerness.
Still should of let dancer have her way sometime to stop a monster you need to become one (that's why swordfish is one of my top ten films)
i really did not enjoy this arc it did not feel like equestria girls at all and adagio well she felt like some cliche anime villain
Well, yes. Yes, it would.
It would have solved this problem rather quickly.
The downside would be having to live with it, but killing somebody who was about to murder a busload of children is NOT in any way, shape, or form similar to being a person with a string of assassinations who was executing a plan for multiple mass genocide.
