Inspired by my story, "Loving the Nightmare" -- Twilight Sparkle travels to the alternate timelines she saw while chasing Starlight Glimmer. Seeking knowlege, she instead finds lust, passion, possession and desire.

It was a heavy chapter, but it had a big job. I did notice those three tails just disappeared when Nightmare Moon manifested. Would have liked a view into her relationship with her sister, as she held her hoof through Sombras torture.
We’ve been waiting a while for this, and well worth it!
Dashiel, huh? So Twilight is joined by a fallen angel; a third woman versed in combat. Her strike team is complete. All that remains is to get them a nice, big mansion with a radio.
sucks for Dash, and Luna

But whose going to be Bosley?

Spike springs to mind. Though there are several others that could take the character in other directions: Moondancer. Bonbon. Shining Armour. Alyss. Starlight Glimmer; almost forgot her for some reason.

Perhaps someone from her upcoming adventures?

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, it really was fun to cowrite it (and thanks to the time zone difference between me and Pen, take the pressure off him while he was afk) and look forward to more cowrites if he allows it. The Pinkamena death scene was actually something that I came up with, but in the worse imaginable way possible.
It was based off of an extremely realistic night terror I had, but slightly adapted to fit the scene and mood of the chapter. In the dream, I was Rainbow, so everything she felt in this chapter I felt first hoof (literally) from the moment it struck Pinkamena, to her dying words of "Don't worry Dashie, I'll be alright" as she passed away in my hooves.
One thing that I left out of the chapter, on purpose, was that in the dream I was overtaken by Dark Magic... Willingly. What resulted was me going full beserk and nopony, even the princesses, couldn't stop me and me killing every last soilder but sparing the alicorns. The things I did at my hooves were so horrific, bloodied, and detailed that "heavy gore" would have had to be used as a precaution warning. So, in a way, this chapter brought me closure, that I have overcame the nightmare but Pinkamena's words will forever haunt me.
which alternate world next Evil Discord's, Victorious Tirek's, Queen Chyrisalis's Wedding Triumph, or the eternal Night of Nightmare Moon?

well it's okay. I also feel sorry for Dash for beign forced to be exiled. Sombra's mindcontoling is well known and the fact Maud was a traitor she shouldn't be blamed for what she was forced to do. not to mention any furture threats they are screwed with 2 out of the six bearers are gone.
ANd Cadance. She doesn't get her Empire so now her Cutie mark is useless. THis Celestia was a moron to send them allone and not let Luna join them.

Agree with almost all of what you say there except for one thing. There are no Bearers in that Equestria, maybe in the peaceful age to come. Younger ponies, less jaded by the horrors of war.

I think they are bearers just never for that push. Think of Dash, what breaks her out of her control, loyalty and love of her wife. The foundation is there just not the final price of the Rainboom.
... So luna did die in that world, good thing Nightmare was there to pick up the pieces.
Twilight, learn the difference between initiating force and responding to it.
And here's hoping this world won't go the way of the Korean or Vietnam war.

Good thoughts.
Derpy and Twilight aren’t even trying to understand the horrors this Equestria went through to turn them into “survivalists”. Twilight and Derpy just came off as really whiny.

Agreed. That Equestria had been in a state of total war for years. In the episode Applejack says, "Everypony doing their part." I took that to be that there was total mobilization of the population. That level of stress, for that long, changes people.
It's like at the end of WWII, when the veterans came home, and tried to explain to the people they left behind what it was like. Civilians just couldn't wrap their heads around it. Sure, there were pictures, even some video, but the only real way to understand the stresses of long-term combat is to experience combat. It's one of the reasons I had Dashiel go back with them.
To make them understand.

Cool, it be nice to see Dashiel take them down a peg. Twilight (and most people really) don’t seem to be able to understand that morality is a hell of a lot easier to take into consideration when you haven’t had an army of people trying to kill you. When history is not on a sterile page but something you live through.

"It's easy to be a Saint in Paradise." Captain Benjamin Sisko.

If you think my part of this chapter was a tear jerker, I got something else planned that will be a bigger feel punch
I applaud Celestia and Nightmare Moon for having the good sense to go for the kill.
But honestly? Twilight's behavior in this chapter didn't make a lick of sense to me.
Even if we assume that she is a oblivious Saint in Paradise, who doesn't really understand the suffering around her and is somehow too stupid and unempathetic to understand, at least on a intellectual level, how much the world has suffered, (which would be weird considering how the previous chapters did nothing but slap her in the face with how badly off this Equestria is) her attempts at talking things out with Sombra and her sanctimonious speech about Friendship and Harmony and how bad it would be to kill him, doesn't even make sense in the context of her own timeline, where she flat out killed him with the Crystal Heart, with no attempt at negotiation. Maybe not personally, but she sure didn't complain about it afterwards.
Just like she didn't complain when Nightmare Moon blasted him, not even internally, which just makes it all the more jarring that she tried to moralize at Celestia over her plan to do the same beforehand.
And even if we go out on a limb and assume that she will plead for the life of the villain regardless, she never hesitated to bring them down first and only offered redemption when they showed a potential for it.
The rest of the chapter is fine, both from a writing perspective and it terms of twists and turns. It's really just Twilight's OOC behavior that bothers me.
I always did love this animation!
