This story is a sequel to EquestriaBound Girls: Short Stories
This story takes place in the same time line as EquestriaBound Girls: Nightmare in Magicant and is a sequel to Pokeshy and Fluttermon from EquestriaBound Girls: Short Stories
Fluttershy is given a challenge by Mewtwo after she befriends a Pikachu and captures a Charizard that came through the portal. Now she must defeat and capture the Legandary Birds to prove her worth to Mewtwo.

As a side note, Winters was a placeholder location for Articuno until I could think of something better. There aren't many cold locations in either of the MLP universes that could possibly be found in the city of Canterlot.

7723009 I like the idea. Most, if not all, cold locations in the Pokemon games have had a skating puzzle in them, including the Seafoam Island in HeartGold/SoulSilver, which was Articuno's home in said games.

7723987 I'm only going to use the slippery ice tile mechanic (step on a slippery ice tile in the games, and you'll slide in the direction you were moving in until you hit an obstacle or reach a different type of tile. The puzzle involving Strength to push boulders won't be used.

The reason I chose to have Fluttershy go after Zapdos first is due to a couple of reasons. First, Zapdos is the easiest of the Legendary Birds to encounter. Zapdos only requires three badges to catch it in the Kanto region games, the Boulder, Cascade, and Soul Badges, and only needs one field move, Surf. Articuno requires four badges in the Kanto region games, the previous three and the Rainbow Badge, as well as two field moves, Surf and Strength, and Moltres requires all eight, seeing as Moltres has been in the final dungeons of both the Kanto and Johto region games (Victory Road in Red/Blue/Green/Yellow and Mt. Silver in HeartGold/SoulSilver) and, in FireRed and LeafGreen, Moltres appears in a post game location (Mt. Ember). The second reason is that it was the order I happened to catch them in in each of the games I have played that features them.

7724754 Sorry, but no. I've always thought that Mega Zard Y was the better of the two. Probably has something to do with how I liked pairing Charizard and Groudon in Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. Charizard's typeset allows it to abuse Groudon's sunlight to increase the power of its fire type moves, without having to fear one of Groudon's strongest Ground type moves, Earthquake. Mega Zard X loses its immunity to the Ground type (I've checked, its ability is not Levitate).

7726438 Kind of hard to without having to choose one to exclude. You're only allowed to use six pokemon in your team. The Legendary Birds make it so she's carrying seven (Charizard, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Empoleon, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres).

Some of you might have noticed that I used ambiguous terms when it came to referring to the Pokemon's genders. That was intentionally done. That way the reader can decide what gender they think the Pokemon are instead of having it forced upon them.

I have just realized that Fluttershy has done a lot within my stories. From bonding with a Charizard and catching six Legendary Pokemon, to vacationing on Isle Delphino, to helping Luigi rescue her friends from King Boo, to befriending the Polterpup, to Staring down Angel when he was possessed by Giygas. She's even Stared down the one and only Freddy Fazbear.

7729088 I just hope that including Mew won't cause the story to glitch. In Red and Blue (Green in Japan), after the developers were done beta testing, they removed the debug mode and filled up the remaining space on the cartridge with Mew. This caused several glitches, like the Trainer Fly glitch and Missingno, to appear in the game.
There are several things about this story that may have originally been different. First of all, Articuno, prior to lunarderpy1's suggestion of an indoor skating rink, would have appeared in Winters from EarthBound. This would have resulted in Fluttershy having Ness take her to there, resulting in Ness being a traveling companion, much like Rainbow was in Moltres's chapter. This would have caused interesting reference to Creature's Inc., one of the two main companies who make Pokemon, who used to be called Ape Inc., the company that made EarthBound and its prequel as well as the various similarities between the two games. I'll let JWitts mention the various details in a video down below. Second, only Gen One pokemon were going to appear, so Piplup/Prinplup/Empoleon and Lugia originally weren't going to appear in the story. When I decided to let Fluttershy get a starter pokemon, I couldn't resist giving Fluttershy my favorite pokemon of all time. Third, this story might not have made it past Zapdos's chapter due to writers' block. I had seriously considered cancelling it before coming up with giving Fluttershy a starter Pokemon.
i feel like its not fair that fluttershy has all these legendarys. at the same time i be's all like yes, fluttershy best pokemon trainer- she caught another legendary. she so awesome.
7729485 I at one point had plans to have her catch a Riolu in the chapter where she fought against Articuno, but I couldn't find a way to implement it. Maybe I'll have to give her more Pokemon that aren't Legendary or Mythical (I include Phione in the list of Mythical Pokemon even though most people don't think of it as one) in the potential sequel.

7729560 It's okay. I already have some ideas. Maybe she'll find a burned up building with some roaming beasts in the basement. That would give more opportunities to find other Pokemon. And I'll be sure to have Fluttershy only use one Legendary/Mythical Pokemon in her team for battles, even if it won't be the same Legend each time (some people, myself included, find it common courtesy to have a maximum of one Legendary Pokemon allowed in linked battles).

7729598 I don't usually fight competitively. Most of the time it's against my cousin or my sister. I prefer collecting and raising them, especially the cute Pokemon like Eevee, Pichu, and Mew. What can I say, I'm a sucker for the cute Pokemon, to the point that I sometimes try to keep them from evolving for as long as possible.

Seeing something cute, like the various starters, Aron, and Spheal become stronger has been exceptionally rewarding to me, and makes the Pokemon cuter to me, even when it's become something powerful like Charizard, Swampert, Empoleon, Aggron, or Walrein.
Okay, I think I might have decided upon a portion of Fluttershy's final team that will be utilized if I ever make a sequel. Her final team will definitely include Charizard (as a reference to Dragonshy), a Crobat (as a reference to Bats!), a Gengar (again, as a reference to Dragonshy, when Rainbow said that Fluttershy is literally scared of her own shadow. Gengar happens to be classified as the Shadow Pokemon), a Lopunny (as a reference to Angel Bunny), and an Ursaring (as a reference to Harry). I still have to choose the Legend for her team, though I'm kind of leaning towards it being either Mewtwo (because it can Mega Evolve) or Mew (because its my favorite Legendary/Mythical Pokemon). And before anyone assumes, I chose Lopunny over Diggersby because it can Mega Evolve. I don't want anyone thinking that I chose it for any other reason. The only hard thing will be trying to write in the evolution from Haunter to Gengar.
