SYNTH4

Just a brony who wants to get by in this cruel and desolate world we call America.

T

Robronco has made many models of the P.A.B.'s (Personal Automated Butler) since the war began. They serve their masters without question, without feelings, and without thought.

So why is Garcon different? He thinks like a pony, acts like a pony, talks like a pony....he even looks like a pony. His programming tells him he's to serve his masters....but other times he thinks about himself, and the world around him. But what makes him different is also what makes him loved; especially by his family. They love him so much that they see him as a member of the family; which he is very happy with.

Garcon doesn't think that he'll do anything over than serve his masters for the rest of their lives.

Until one day...the day when one story ended and another began. The day when fire and destruction rained down on Equestria from the Zebra Homeland. The world of old ended, and ponies ran for the safety of the Stables.

Now Garcon finds himself awoken in a new, deadly Equestria after being offline for 190 years. But with the world and life he once knew now gone, he finds himself with a new objective. With knowledge that his family is still alive, he begins a journey to search the wasteland and find them.

But there is a new enemy in the Wasteland: a group ready to spread their reign of technological terror over all of Equestria.

A+ introduction! Looking forward to continuing the story. Garcon sounds very damaged, I wonder how he will start up again. I am glad that you took the time to build up the relationship Garcon has with his family. A lot of stories rush to get to the action and would have just said that he was different and was loved. You did the commendable 'show don't tell' technique. It can be tough to pull off. So I say again, Good Job!:trollestia:

It's a good start man! Keep it up, at your own pace of course:twilightsmile:

Good to see you're not dead.
I think it would be funny to see the face of the mare that he gave up his place in the stable for will look like.

7889396 Who knows, we may just get a chance in the future.

7892344 quick question, which fallout game does this take place in?

7892404 Mostly inspired by Fallout 4, with a few things taken from Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Good intro, hope you get more viewership!

Was ready to read this story, but learn it was dead. Sad times...

Sorry. It takes a long time to write and it's just not popular enough to put the effort into anymore.

Well since it's dead and abandoned you want to spoil the ending for us?

Like what happened to his family?
How much time has passed since they left the stable? My guess is like ~20 years so the family he's looking for will be much different from what he's looking for, the most plausible explanation I can come up with is that hatchet took them all to red eye to be slaves but that doesn't make sense for the geographic distance unless that was supposed to be a trec way later in the fic.
It's pretty much got to be slaves or prisoners of some sort otherwise I don't see them not wondering back by their house at some point looking for mc.

Why not ask around for his family? Why look exclusively for one of the guys that took them?
Why weren't all three in hazmat suits? If they cared they'd about contamination they'd all be wearing them and hatchet isn't a synth or he wouldn't look older later.
The ones in the hazmat suits were supposed to be significant later as it was mentioned they appeared to be twins.

Why did mc think he could survive a megaspell? and if he was supposed to be able to why didn't he?
mc would seem to remember things when in low power mode implying he was more than a standard butler, like the implication is that he's actually the prototype of something and the only one at that rather than a standard product, so what is he really?
Why is mc built more sturdy than the synths that were built for war?

The awakening can only make sense if there was more to it as the guy was waaaaaay too nice to be in the wasteland scavenging parts.
Guy repairs him and then powers him up with a battery powerful enough to run a city and then doesn't have anything in place to stop him if he's not friendly and on those lines mc bolts and runs all the way to the stable and the guy just lets him?, hacks into the stable and opens the door and the guy raids what supplies he can but there is no indication that he got anything sufficient for the time, effort and parts put into mc, guy even gives him a pipbuck (well just the chip) which as we later find are apparently extremely uncommon as there is never any indication given that any of the other ponies or even synths encountered have such capabilities.

Does cyborg have something of TSIM's and is lying about it or are some of his parts TSIM tech? I'm assuming the latter.
Who are TSIM and what are their goals? They've been shown to have extensive and very sophisticated long term operations as shown by us finding out the raider was a synth. Like cylons as even the synths may not know they are synths.

What was the deal with the other synth? That seemed to have gone rogue that got killed? Or uhh damaged? I mean like they are robots I don't actually think she was damaged beyond repair, I figured she was going to be featured again later except repaired and reprogrammed and no longer friendly. Was she meant to be that way or was she rogue? (would have been a very interesting addition to the crew as she natively couldn't be trusted).

They've got a raider in their crew, she's like blacklisted among raiders which is somehow a thing that they have a central authority despite the whole deal with the raiders thing is like anarchy and kill so she can't go back but that doesn't mean that she won't immediately turn around and kill mc and the others once they are out of that hornets nest, likewise we still have eastwood which still seems intent to kill her once they get out.

What happened to/who was the girl he gave up his spot for.....(Like mc could have just sat in the hallway for 190 years) and something I rarely see fics address what happened to the techs that froze them? it was implied that that was all of the slots and the techs weren't in any of them.
I figured the girl was a throw away character that would never come up again as she wasn't really described to any degree (if it follows no good deed goes unpunished she's now the head of some gigantic evil organization now so anything where she's not doing evil would be a nice surprise), likewise sunny is a background character, there but only ever mentioned.
