Needs editing, pacing, and Twilight is incredibly stupid so far. She's essentially sticking up for a random one-off acquaintance over her lover and the Element of Loyalty. Sorry, but thus far in the story premise doesn't stick. It'd be like AJ seeing some some newbie in town pulling off some heinous crime and then no one believed her, the reliable and honest one.
7373318 Well the next chapter adds in the detail that Rainbow has gotten mad with other ponies in the past who even looked at Twi the wrong way so Twilight has seen this before.

7373701 Im sure but there is a difference between being jealous which Dash had obviously been and directly telling Twilight that he threatened her and their relationship when Twilight was out of the room. Twilight has to believe Dash is lying directly to her and not just being her normal jealous self for this series of events to play out and right after saying you have to trust me. Twilight even goes so far in the third chapter to pretty much say she feels Dash is lying. That's the real issue here and ruins an otherwise enjoyable premise. It's not even necessary. Had he just played his game and not told Dash his plans this story could play out the same way and it would not feel like Twilight is ignoring her history and friendship with Dash.
