6351375 You're welcome. I'm glad it was something you needed. I don't typically write stories, and so I'm sure there's a lot of subtle things I do or don't do that could moderate things if it seems too overwhelming. I just saw the challenge, and an idea sparked, and I figured I'd give it a shot.

It would've been too much if he didn't deal with it well, but the happy/strong memories and the fact that he was taking time for himself as well as being concerned for his family made him someone who chose what to do with life rather than being destroyed by it.

Basically, you made a character that is a good example of how to deal with life's heartaches.
