The next day, Rarity met with her friends at Sugar Cube Corners. A few transgender flags still littered the grounds outside, but most of the stuff from the parade has been cleaned up. Rarity sat between Pinkie Pie and Twilight. Pinkie pushed a sundae in front of Rarity, and she accepted it levitating a spoon full to her mouth.

“The Cakes are gone for the day, so I'm running this place all by myself,” Pinkie announced. Rarity looked behind her to check if there were any customers. There were not. Pinkie continued, “It's been very slow, but I imagine the ponies got filled from the sweets yesterday.”

The others nodded in understanding. Rarity glanced at Rainbow Dash who was no different from normal. “Rainbow, do you go by different names while you are identifying as other gender?”

Rainbow Dash shook her head, “No. I'm always Rainbow Dash. I think it's pretty gender neutral. I may be gender fluid, but I will always be awesome! I don't want you to treat me any differently.”

“I will not,” Rarity agreed. She made a mental note to tell Rainbow Dash later when she was alone. She was still curious about Scootaloo, though, “Is Scootaloo seeing a gender therapist?”

Rainbow nodded, “He has a consultation on Monday.” Rarity smiled in response.

Pinkie Pie took a deep breath in and said, “I know you're pretending to be just an ally and stuff, Rarity, but you seem to know a lot more about transitioning than other ponies,” Rarity's eyes grew wide. Pinkie found out. She continued, “You may have fooled everypony else, but you can't fool me! I knew all along, but I didn't say anything.” Rarity glared at her. “Maybe I shouldn't have said anything yet.” Pinkie awkwardly grinned an sat back in her seat.

“Pinkie, that's not cool!” Rainbow scolded.

Pinkie mouthed, “Sorry.”

Rainbow didn't accept it, though, “Imagine if you were to out her in front of ponies who weren't accepting! That's dangerous, and you know it!”

“It's alright, Rainbow. She didn't mean to,” Rarity said defending Pinkie. She didn't condone what she did, but she forgave her.

Rainbow Dash sat back in her chair. Rarity smiled and continued eating her sundae. Her plan to tell Rainbow Dash in private didn't go very well. She was going to tell her friends later, but that part just came earlier than it meant to.

“I had no idea that two of us are transgender!” Twilight announced.

Pinkie exclaimed, “I'm pansexual!”

“What's pansexual?” Fluttershy asked. She hid her face with her wings in fear that she asked a stupid question.

“Pansexual is where you are attracted to other ponies without gender even being a concern,” Applejack explained, “It's different from being bisexual because while bisexuals may love mares and stallions in different ways, pansexuals don't use gender as a factor.”

Fluttershy showed her face again. She smiled acknowledging that she understood. The ponies finished their sundaes but remained in their chairs. None of them had anything they needed to do.

Applejack looked at Rarity, “I'm assuming you're a transmare?”

Rarity nodded, “Yes. I transitioned at a very early age, long before I got my cutie mark.”

“How did your parents react when they found out?” Twilight asked.

Rainbow Dash interjected, “I got interviewed, too.”

Rarity answered, “They were rather accepting; however, my father was quite disappointed that he would not have a son to play hoofball with. My gender therapist explained to him that I would most likely not be interested in hoofball nor any sport regardless if I transitioned or not.”

“What is your birth name?” Fluttershy asked.

Rarity glared sternly at Fluttershy. She knew Fluttershy never meant to be rude. Ponies weren't taught about which questions were to ask a transgender pony and which questions to avoid. “I refuse to answer,” she replied.

Pinkie put her hoof up to stop the questions, “Never ask a transpony their birth name, what sex organs they have, nor how they have sex. Refer to them as the name they want you to refer to them as, and use the pronouns they want you to use.”

Rarity and Rainbow Dash nodded simultaneously.

“Also, never out a transpony without their permission,” Rainbow added.

Everyone nodded in agreement except Pinkie Pie who turned bright red. Rarity never planned on being part of a transgender education. She wasn't uncomfortable with talking about it, though. She was alone with her friends. She was glad her friends were accepting of her. Even if everything didn't go out as planned, it still worked out in the end. She continued chatting among her friends.

I could imagine Pinkie as pan.
Lovely story, you could use a little work on exposition in the first chapter, though. It gets tedious to read through paragraphs of text.

5646704 Thanks for the story, it was really good!

Pinkie seems to have that pansexual vibe, and her color scheme is the same as that of the pansexual flag. I'm glad you as well as some people liked it. I expected it to be hated a lot more. It is out of my usual genre, and it's more educational than entertaining.

I like it, liked and faved.

This isn't too shabby; I suppose the reason why it has so many dislikes is due to it not really having much of what's inside the characters' heads or their feelings.

If you'd like a suggestion of things to improve upon, I would suggest description and pacing :raritywink:

Description and pacing. I really suck at those. If there are great places online to learn about them, then I haven't found them. I found complicated stuff, but I don't learn reading complex things.

Heh, I see. I dunno, maybe try and find someone who writes really well and just read plenty if their work? If not that, you could look at a writer's school sort of group.

Just ideas. :derpytongue2:

I have tried reading other works, but I don't seem to notice pacing. As for groups, I don't have any groups near me. I looked.

Oh, sorry. I live in a pretty rural area, so it's hard for me to find stuff. Do you know any reliable and free sites that could help? The ones I could find either didn't help with pacing at all or helped with too slow pacing.

I think the only things I can think of right now are on this site, the groups Author Support and the School For New Writers

I like how PinkiePie comes out and say. "I'm pansexual!"

You should make a sequel for Scootaloo.

Hm, I certainly like the idea, but the execution is a bit off. The term "transsexual" in itself is questionable (many trans people do not like the term due to the pornographic connotations, but this is a neither here-nor there kind of thing).

Besides that, the pacing is a bit funky, especially in the first chapter. Everything is quick and blunt, and reads more like a life lesson than a story (something which may be okay in fimfiction, but it's more like an episode than a fan story). Also the definition of pansexual is kind of... out dated.

I like the FtM Scootaloo and genderfluid Rainbow aspects (and of course trans mare Rarity). And pan Pinkie is a sure way to get my approval for sure! ^-^

I love this story so far! :D

I was expecting more actual story and less of a description on how to treat transpeople/ponies.

I understand what you were going for, but it feels very weird for characters to act ooc for the sake of exposition. I cannot imagine a world where Fluttershy would ask such an intrusive question, regardless of how uneducated she is on trans issues. And Pinkie should know better, she is consistently characterized as someone who values the sanctity of secrets!
