Draenor is broken and the very realm weeps. Those bravest of heroes that fell with the dying world were forever lost to their friends. But somewhere, in the vastness of space, a few of their cries were heard... and answered.

For an unfortunate few, the old gods came to collect. For fewer still, their magics returned them, though forever changed. But for one, lone Forsaken, another's voice has answered the call.

It is, perhaps, for the best though that her trip has cost her so dearly.

You know that for forsaken, or undead in general, it is impossible to channel the light without massive pain or even outright killing themself with it even if they are devout followers of its teachings? That's one of the reasons the forsaken gave up on the living in general because those who tried to reach out to the light where burned by it and felt just as betrayed by it as they felt about the living no longer accepting them.
That undead priests ingame use the light to heal is purely gameplay and if someone tried to heal an undead with the light it would destroy the one that is being healed.

Other than that i think this story is going great so far even if not that much has happened involving ponies.

<shrugs> As far as I can tell from both the game and the RP books, the Forsaken priests fall into one of two general groups: those that follow the Echo of Life (tending to be mages or at least arcane casters) or those of the Cult of Forgotten Shadow (tending to be the remnants of the pious or devout). Both of which seek out a sense of life, regardless of where it actually comes from, while simultaneously altering their perceptions and thinking to better suit their new lot in life.

In the case of priests (at least those formerly of the Holy Light), they tend to revile the Light as overwhelming hatred and betrayal spawned from the natural aversion (and indeed damage as you mentioned) that the Light brings. However, they can still remember it and tend to gravitate towards either the 3 virtues (respect, tenacity, and power) or a form of divine humanism. Either way, their philosophy, and thus views and understandings of how they are channeling divine power, is shaped by their culture, upbringing, devotion, and personal outlook... so, as is the case with our (currently nameless) priest, what might very well be latent necromantic magics (such as Touch of the Grave) might be seen as the Light's influence.

But, for simplicity's sake, we can think of her "Light" as the latent conversion of necromantic potential in a form most familiar to her original understandings... in other words, a psychological construct to fit with her understanding and experiences.

Thank you though! It's not often I run across folks who are willing to critically examine a story for seeming inconsistencies.

<chuckles> Thanks for the comment!
Normally my chapters run between 8-10k words... feel free to check out A Bit of Mojo for chapters that run a bit longer, but this story was specifically designed to be smaller chunks (mostly to keep me from going months between posts...heh.... guilty).
Don't worry though, I've been trying to get a bit written on various stories on my days off... currently 2 a week, so you can expect another short update within a few days.

I kind of expected something to go wrong, but this is on an entirely different level of stuff going wrong.
Basically they tried infusing her with the light to heal and protect her through the summoning but because she is undead it was more akin to wrapping her into burning sheets of tar paper and always putting up another layer when the first one was gone.
I assume that what they where trying to do would have done nothing of that sort to someone not undead correct?

There you go! Ignorance isn't always bliss after all... especially in WoW.

More! I may not play WoW now, but I loved Cataclysm. And Wrath of the Lich King. Death Knight Worgen, FTW! Maybe the backlash of the spell also transported a few lucky others to Equus. Others besides the Forsaken... And then, Burning Legion, as usual. :facehoof::duck::twilightblush::rainbowderp:

Never know. Buuuuut, as for this story, it's focused solely on our intrepid Forsaken Priest...
On the other hand, if you ~wanted~ some other character in there, I don't see why there couldn't have been a little surge in Celestia's/Luna's/Twilight's magic that snatched someone else and dropped them randomly (in your own story, of course).

Be creative!
Be Flexible!
Be Horde!

Be-come a fimfic author and MAKE the world your own!

5758767 Awww... darn. I would write my own, but I'm stuck with school... And if it did grab some one or something, it would probably end up being my OCs, Korina Dragonclaw and Koruina Shadowclaw. Korina looks like my profile picture, but with no dragon horns and normal wings... And no clothing, for the most part. Koruina is mostly darker colors, with red eyes instead of green. Both can shapeshift at will, and have elemental powers. And I usually played worgen or night elf, but if I did play horde it was my blood elf. I didn't really like how others looked, but I loved the backstory for all of them! :pinkiecrazy:The female troll could have been a lot worse... -shiver- :fluttershyouch::rainbowwild:

I think the idea of the Royal guard being outwitted and at least on surprise overwhelmed by what is in essence a meatbag full of partly broken bones without any form of locomotion beyond crawling, even if its animated by dark magics, is really funny.

Sweet Celestia, it lives…

<Chuckles> Yes... I'm still alive and I'm still writing. This is just on the back burner ATM.
...
I really ~should~ use the Hiatus tag occasionally, but then I feel like a traitor. Meh... I've had the next few chapters roughed out for months... should probably get around to releasing at least one or two.
