I don't think I've seen one that doesn't use any of those things, so please, if you have, put up a link, and I'll try better next time. And keep in mind, this is the first story that I've written, so take it easy, you don't need to be a jackass about it

Well, check out my top 5 favorites. "Retired to Equestria" is a friggin masterpiece, IMO.
Here's a tip: nearly all HiE stories are starting on very treacherous ground. It's really easy to see them as the author's personal fantasy, which is something no one other than the author can genuinely care about, so you're fighting an uphill battle if you decide to write one. Including romance and sex doesn't help your case.
Might wanna change the cover "art", not only it is below average, but also red and black colors on OCs are more overdone than my toast.
Especially if it screams at you that it is an instant OCxApplejack
2018864 yeah, i realized this soon after i started writing it, so i'm gunna finish writing the next chapter then work on other stories i have planned, maybe it'll help give myself a better edge

That's a good attitude to have. Every story is a learning experience and everyone gets better with more practice. I half expected an immature reply like I usually get from HiE authors, but your attitude has me interested in what you'll write next. If you ever want an editor, either to proof for little grammatical issues or just to bounce ideas off of, that's mostly what I do here.
