Unbridled Dolly

Don't be a soft goat

In the magical world of Equestria, it never snows. It never rains, never falls to night. But for one day, I just can't help but break the norm.

Canon within my Sky-Verse. Prior knowledge is not required.

This story was written for a contest. I'd recommend checking out the other entries, because they're all really cool.

Cover art belongs to FreeFraQ.

I really liked this story and all of the alternate world terms that really gave it charm. And random question, is the main character Misty Fly because I really dug how you wrote her. I could instantly follow along without thinking what's this and that.

(Spoilers, do not read unless you've finished the story.) Though I can't help but be surprised the Primer-Sun came herself to deal with them over snow clouds.

I enjoyed reading this story. The alternate universe and how it is different is made clear in this story, though I would have liked a little more information regarding the Night-Cursed and -Marked. It's fine as it is, but a little more might help. Anyway, I liked the characterization and the premise was unique. Great work, and good luck in the contest!

I haven't read it yet, but that cover art is killing me with its cuteness. (Plus it's not a bat pony for a change! :yay:)

This was AMAZING!!!!!
I know your going to do well in the contest.
I really have no words, other than how great it was. I can offer no constructive criticism or anything.
I enjoyed it immensely, and look forward to more!

5520486 Thanks! And yeah, that's Misty Fly. It was pretty fun to write her. And the Primer-Sun is just the name of the first sun. Instead of a sun and a moon, they have the Primer-Sun and the Blood-Sun. And the Queen came because it's one of her Wonderbolts, and her sky must never be marred by anything. It's one of her biggest laws.

5520590 Thank you! And the Night-Cursed and -Marked isn't really important, except that she is part of both.

5520696 Isn't it? I wish I knew who drew it. And I've actually never had a story with cover art of a batpony, I don't think.

5520707 Heh, thanks. And this story is complete, but it's part of a (mostly unpublished) verse.

5520780 You're welcome!

5520780
Ah, I mean more of your stories. :pinkiehappy:

5520835 Ah, got it. Those might be kinda sparse, though, 'cause of school and all.

5520972
So' k, as long as you keep making them! :pinkiehappy:

Wow. Well written.

Did not encounter any errors. The prose was awesome.

5523362 Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.:raritywink:

If I hadn't entered the contest myself, you'd have my vote. Well written and explores that idea of "forbidden fruit" quite well. My only complaints were that you never introduced the speaker in the story by name and bits of information originating in the Sky-verse that were not explained as it distracted me a great deal, especially the -Cursed and -Marked thing. Sadly, the fic that starts this universe doesn't help define those either and I can only assume it has to do with the last paragraph of the flashback in Insane Ramblings.

5520707
Well be sure to check the contest out for yourself then and show some support!

5524317 Thank you!

Oh. I just realized I should have put her name somewhere in there. Fixed.

I put in a little more that should make it clearer about what makes a pony Night-Cursed and the Night-Marked. (5520787, this is for you too.) But pretty much, a pony that is Night-Cursed is a pony born with dark colors or colors found mostly in the night. Indigo, blue, black, that sort of thing. Light blues are fine, as long as you have some other day colors as well. Night-Marked is when a pony has a cutie mark of something that might mar the Queen's sky or something night-related. I hope that helps.

5524910 That clarifies things. Anyway, best of luck in the contest!

5524943 Good to know. Thank you!

5524999 You're welcome!

Very well-written story, good job!

You're welcome. :raritywink:

Wow... And here I thought you had reached your best writing in some of your other stories. But I really love this one, the characters have very believable personalities, the AU itself is very creative, and I really liked the story itself as well. I am aware that I just said itself twice. And that it sounded weird.

But nonetheless, I liked this story a lot. I can't wait for more of the Sky-Verse, and this story pulled me out of my funk for now. I know, my feelings are very wishy-washy.:rainbowlaugh:

I wish you luck in the contest, not that you'll need it!:heart:

5533407 Heh, thanks!:twilightblush: I'm glad you liked it so much. And I might, because currently it is a tie. (Hint hint go read the others and vote for the one you liked the most.:derpytongue2:)

5534172

Alright! I was planning on reading the others anyway.:rainbowwild:

5537311 Heh, cool. Enjoy! (I know I did.)

5537325

:rainbowwild: Do you think you'll win?

5537338 I don't know. It depends on the readers, really. It's currently a tie between this and Troubles Over Hot Chocolate, so there's no telling what'll happen in these three days until voting closes.

5537347

Ah.:rainbowwild: I shall go and see dis hot chocolate trouble.

5537367 Alrighty. It was really good, in my opinion, and I think you'll like it.

Um, the description says never snows twice.

I don't thing you meant to do that.

6347873 Oi. Thanks for that. I can't believe I've never even noticed it.:twilightblush:
