Ah, so they found some Imperial ruins, eh? Unless the Imperium is dead (and if it is, then you will burn for that, Heretic!) then I look forward to the day when they encounter a Space Marine. My brothers will watch this story closely... for heresy of course.
The look of horror upon their faces when an imperial fleet arrives, will be amazing.

Looks good so far. Tartarus could actually become a very useful planet later on - to test armor and containment spells in extreme conditions. The edge of the sun side is also hot enough for geothermal power plants to keep the colonies running - even sturdy greenhouses (oriented to the sun side and sealed to keep the moisture in) are possible.
A nice start. Much like the Imperium of Man, what started as a crusade for unity, harmony and progress will soon be consumed by the needs of survival and a new, darker approach to the universe around them will emerge.
