That was interesting really, i liked it.
But if i think about it now, i realised Equestria's future is sad actually. And, this is why the Equestrian pony society never gonna invent electricity ever in their life. A sapient species in the Pre-Industrial/Middle Ages, and they got everything right from the start, but seriously think about it. They don't need to invent and evolve like we humans did every time, until today. They have the ability to fly already, and everything else explained with the natural magic.
They don't even try to explain and think about what surrounds them, maybe because they just too innocent too. This is sad actually, because they just vegetate, and with almost 1000,1500 or maybe 2000 years, they just wasted that lifetime. Back at the hearth's warming eve episode, you see the ancient three tribes with candles, after that in the Canterlot palace with the reunited royal sisters, candles or fireplace for the light. And in Manehattan, am sure that was not electricity, more like fireflies in light bulb, just like in the operating room when Pinkie was the assistant in the Pinkie Pride episode.
But this is just a cartoon, and we love it, for sure.

That is an interesting concept. I cannot say I heard that one yet.
I have read a couple of fanfics/head cannons where Equestria is always on the verge of the industrial revolution. There are also ones were there is modern technology but is more of a luxury that some house holds decide to splurge on. As you pointed out, most things we use modern technology for they already achieve with natural abilities and magic.
I wonder if they will ever touch upon this subject in the show.
I like it. Too bad the ponies didn't wonder about this before. Twilight probably won't find much, lol.
There is of course the philosophical position that it doesn't actually matter.
I mean the teleported pony has all the same memories, personality etc.
And atoms get slowly replaced all the time anyway.
How about if twilight said "yes I know the spell records where all my atoms are, deletes those atoms, and then conjours new ones at the destination. I still look like me, feel like me, think like me. I'm still the same pony in the ways that matter
".

They could be in the pony equivalent of the middle ages.
Well actually no. They have what looks like steam trains. And hot air balloons. And some of twi's science machines have wires and even light bulbs. So they have electricity.
Maybe they are advancing more slowly, or differently. But this looks consistent with technological advancement happening.
