He could probably create a primitive aircraft rather easily.
Yes aircraft arent the hardest things to make, he can just give them the basic ideas of how it works and tell them wat it needs , they will have to do the rest.
3601366 There's a lot that goes into even a simple aircraft that he's pretty much going to have make from scratch, because he's going to basically be doing this Wright Bros. style.
The whole process is a lot harder than people might think. It's like not having any reference materials available and being told to make a car or other complicated machine from memory alone. Knowing what materials work and what others don't or having knowledge of how materials that don't exist are made so that they can be replicated if at all possible with the technology available.
Why didn't he make a joke about sex yet! Like, if I were to have sex with Pyre, Would Gilzia be able to hear it thru the bond? Fun times :D.
3602373 Probably because he knows that they can listen into his thoughts, and doesn't want to ruin his chances of getting home. So at least for now he has to keep his wanton thoughts in check, at least while he's were they can hear him. If I make this bond continue to last there's definitely going to be instances where his control will slip, like we saw when they were leaving the jail cell.
Plus dropping hints that there is more to the bond than hearing thoughts.
*After the whole origin story*
So Judaism/Christianity/Islam (albeit a corrupted vision of it) is the true religion?
"Why did you got to the moon"
Why the hell not?
"We've been advancing our society based off what slips through the rift"
Okay their lucky nobody got napalm, or fat man, or a terminator, but they did get an atari apparently.
"Sure I'll make you an airplane!"
Wow, okay! That might not have been the best decision I was expecting something along the lines of
"I could, but I'm not. That's something you have do on your own."

Why not. I'm kind of just going with the flow on this one. Went with the "God of Abraham" as a basis for the old god because of the amount of people in the world that believe in him in some form or another, and the supposed point of God is that he's the ultimate form of love and watches over us even though we fed up almost all the time. So seemed like a good solid comparison to an ultimate diety version of the ponies, who seem to base their whole "harmony" on about the same thing that supposedly existed in the proverbial Garden of Eden. Plus hadn't really read anything like that as an origin story before. Added bonus there is no real "true" religion in this story.
Also went with that we both evolved on an original planet to explain the whole "anthro" thing and how there's a portal between worlds were a guy immune to magic could pass through. Early prehistoric horses were small, just like our ancestors, and even had multiple digits on each leg. Who's to say that they didn't evolve like we did to adopt bipedal walking and increased brain size. Who's to say that the ponies weren't predators at some point stealing eggs from birds nest or eating fish to supplement their diet.
The trash coming through the portal was the best explanation that I could come up with for why they live in thatched-roof houses and still use candles but seem to have a game system and a hydroelectric dam(if that's it's purpose and isn't used for irrigation of crops). They are foragers of the tech that comes through, and there's a reason only certain things come through that I'm sure wouldn't be too hard to figure out why from reading the story.
The idea of building an airplane was because it mainly gives him something to do and I wanted to put more of a realistic spin on the whole "pilot takes super high tech fighter or extremely large cargo plane to Equestria and it never breaks or runs out of fuel and ammo, and the pilot knows how to fix everything on the plane." Because I've worked on aircraft in the military for a while and even the airframe that I work on which is a fairly reliable airframe still breaks and requires a lot of support on the ground after every flight just to keep them flying. A single engine alone holds 20 quarts of extremely low viscosity oil in the oil tank alone and at ground idle consumes 600-800 lbs/hr of jet fuel. That and no pilot knows how to work on their own plane in the military (half of them can't figure out why a system doesn't work in the 'OFF'cial mode)
Plus I never said he'll succeed in building a working plane, or that certain individuals would "want" him to finish building it
Are they going to build something similar to the Wright Flyer?
Cant help but notice that every instance of the word 'staring' got turned into 'starring'.
I am pleased to find another story that makes me binge read.
YOU HAVE WREKT MY PLANS FOR HALF A DAY
Awkward explanation time.
I had to stop in the middle of the chapter and and skip the rest of the exposition. There is really one big thing that's been bugging me since the mere mention of the search for his home. Why. Why would he want to go back? No family or significant other has been mentioned. Only his tie to the armed forces and what little has been mentioned, it sounds he was about to die from falling from a great height. Wouldn't that be the case if he were returned? Or to any other point on Earth where he would be unable to survive for seconds(anywhere underwater, anywhere above a certain height, exposed to extreme elements, no food, no idea of where, in the middle of a hostile community, etc, etc)
Here he technically already has a harem, magic cannot directly affect him, the natives cannot overpower him in small numbers(that he has been exposed to), the supreme rulers have literally taken him under their wings, plenty of food, mostly non-hostile attention, etc, etc. Why would he want to leave? To go back and be miserable fixing aircraft? Maybe he fears that where he is at is too good to be true? Even if so, he knows very little about the lay of the land. and he is fighting the flow.
Eric doesn't seem to have much of an internal struggle which makes me think he has already made up his mind. Why not speak it and tell them his interest?
And he's introducing them to warfare on a massive scale.
3606556 Just re-reading.

Probably seen both of these already.
Also, what is that thing in the first pic?
What a cliffhanger! I can't wait to see how she reacts to THAT!
Pfff... made some theatre, fooled their own populace about it, without suitable proves and demonstration of technology that could allow to do that.
