Getting the latest news that he was getting checked out of the Asylum so he could relive the reality as maybe normal... or still unstable... It's his choice to step up to the challenge or hide in the shadows of insanity....

I think that around the end, when Match met his brother, he seemed a bit too, calm, to be insane. An insane person or pony like Match Box would normally not have anything nice about them at all, even if it were their best friend or relative. They would just probably do something very bad and horrific to them, in Matches' case. Still good story so far!
