An adaptation of ROBCakeran53's My Little Dashie that will be then adapted again for a fan film adaption.
I was fascinated by My Little Dashie, and being well grounded in Adobe Flash, I wanted to bring it to life. But as with all movie projects, it starts at pre-production. The first part is well, the script. The original My Little Dashie was wonderful, but with the utmost respect to ROBCakeran53, has some flaws (according to some critics, I only agreed somewhat). So, I told him about my project, and he said it was okay for me to do a rewrite. I know many people tried similar projects, but this one is alive!

This adaptation is meant to fill in blanks as well as serve primarily as a reference (otherwise I would have went straight to writing a script based instead directly ON the original as is).
EDIT: Changed "Novel" to simply "Adaptation", since that's what it is
Story is based on "My Little Dashie" by ROBCakeran53, GaruuSpike's "First Bath" and "Game Over", and part of amimizunofan22's "A Moment".
I'm writing one chapter at a time, and I'm asking for some serious editing and critiquing to do this story justice.

Well you're right, you aren't the only one. Though no one has shown me any progress in any of their projects, so who knows who is really doing one or not. Anyway, sure I don't mind; go for it.

Ugh, why can't you people leave the story alone? It was amazingly done and people are ruining it by doing this sort of thing, there has been ONE good sequel, adaption, alternate ending and it was nowhere near as good as the orginal but it still held it's own from the start. I'm not saying stop this I'm saying think through what your typing.

I agree, just like Cupcakes, Past Sins and Fallout: Equestria. There are too many unofficial alt. endings/sequels being made and are ruining what they are supposed to be about. (Personal difference for me is that I don't like any of the stories I just listed.)
Little Dashie was a good story an' all people, but I don't think it deserves this much of a reputation for THREE FUCKING SEQUELS AND SOME OTHER SHIT NO ONE CARES ABOUT.
script writing for a movie, or for a true novel format, are VASTLY different from that of a short story. My Little Dashie has always been a short story. i look forward to seeing how this turns out.

Me personally, i think a MLD movie is a great idea!
If everything goes the way it's suppose to, it just might be as big as the fic itself.
One question though.
Is it gonna be a live action kinda thing?
Or is it all gonna be animated? Like a cartoon.

Movie adaptations never do a story justice, I am frightened. Of course, you could be the one to break that routine. Good luck.

212928 I have to agree it's so many different versions of so many fics that I have trouble finding the original sometimes.
I really like the idea of a fan animation but I do have one beef with your writing so far. You're spelling things out directly that are said in more passive ways in the original story. For example, you're TELLING us more about the fact that his world is bleak and the ponies colorful where in the original story it seemed more like we were being shown this, although there was some actual text talking about it, the reader's intelligence wasn't insulted. I would think with film your ability to SHOW and not tell would be even more powerful. I look forward to the fan film because I really do want to see how it turns out, but please keep this one point in mind. Thanks.

I love the idea of a movie and stuff so i'm going to track it but i think this bit :(Life is supposed to be full of color, so I guess you can say I have no life; empty, dull and gray; like this dying city you could say (hey that rhymed!). Houses lay vacant, children no longer play in the fields, businesses are monotone; colorless and lifeless. How I wish I could paint over this city as my mother could paint this city over canvas. According to legend, this place wasn’t always so devoid of activity; my parents lived in those times, and only pictures that I’ve seen in old restaurants serve as the only memorials to that image. My mother and father lived happy, and wished the same for me growing up. Sadly, I cannot say I have achieved that wish of theirs.) Could be made into song. I kinda sang a little tune to it. I would be happy if you could do that but having a fan movie is as good enough.

One inconstancy I found was that once he got back, he never bothered to turn his PS2 off, and that the TV, still being on, never cast any light when he re-entered... Just pointing it out
