It has been two months since the incident at Crystal Prep. Despite what happened, disturbances are still occurring, ultimately ruining Sunny Flare and her friends' summer vacation. But when Sunny happens to find what occurs on the other side of these tears in the fabric of space, her life is changed dramatically and ultimately she can stop two worlds from colliding with one another...or destroy everything completely.

When the megaspells fell, it was the death of the old Equestria. The death of civilization, the death of society, the death of so many creatures all at once. In many ways, however, it was also the birth of something new. And while some mourned, others celebrated. But did they celebrate birth or death?

The city of New Pegas was born the day fire rained from the sky. A city of gambling and vice, the ponies there care little for what happens outside their walls. While the rest of the world mourns, this city continues in a cycle of perpetual partying. But not for long.

An opportunity emerges in the city of New Pegas: a guest arrives to the party over two centuries late. He brings with him a chance to change everything, a chance for rebirth. What will be the outcome of this party? Will it be something to be mourned... or celebrated?

For many years Cranky searched for his beloved Matilda, only to find her in Ponyville with the help of Pinky Pie. What did he find while searching for Matilda? What did he do to support himself and his search, and who helped him? This series of letters attempts to answer those questions.

I used to be happy. I used to be able to run and play in the sun all day. I used to have friends. I used to stay up late telling scary stories with them. I used to love learning all I could. I used to have the greatest teacher known to ponykind. I used to have a home.
I used to be a pony.
Half of me misses my old life and longs to return. The other half demands that I stay. And if...if THAT hadn't happened, I would be able to return home.
I hate my own existence, yet I have continued to do the research I began unwillingly. I've spent days and nights torturing myself over my work. When the pain becomes too much to bear, I go to sleep. When I wake up, I find myself in a new environment. But I'm still the same. I pick up my work again and the cycle repeats.
Despite my wretched state, I'm not the one who has suffered the most. Hundreds of ponies – earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns alike – have been through excruciating pain dwarfing mine. At the end of it all, their memories are wiped. I pity them, but also envy them. They don't remember anything about their former lives, but I must cope with what could have been. And to my sorrow, my research is conducted upon these poor, poor souls.
But life goes on. Days turn into weeks, weeks into months, months into years. All filled with screams of pain. I look back to my physical torture. I look at theirs. And I am mortified.
I once asked why. I was never answered, but I already knew the answer.
Why do I do it? Because I must.
Why must I do it? Because I can.

Ponyville has been good to Fiddlesticks. Despite the occasional monster, the town has been the ideal place to grow up. However, after seeing her relatives during the Apple family reunion, Fiddlesticks feels like her small town has become much smaller. How can she sit still when she knows that there's a big world out there?

Long ago, before the Elements of Harmony saved Equestria more times than most ponies could count, two unlikely friends wandered the land. One was a donkey searching for a long-lost love, the other a gigantic sea serpent with a taste for grooming. Together, they forged trails not even the bravest explorers dared traverse and learned secrets long forgotten by modern ponies.

One fateful day, the two came to a lonely town on the Equestrian plains. "Windvane", the serpent called it. The signs promised a one-of-a-kind spa and quaint sabbatical from their journey, away from the heartaches and pains of the past.

But not all promises are kept, and the two friends soon found nothing could be the same ever again.
