Fluttershy is captured by Caballeron and his gang of thugs and mercenaries. Stuck in a cage in an odd transport vehicle, she's taken far, far away from Ponyville. They are going to Ahuizotl, a name she knows from the Daring Do books, but what could he want with her?

This was written as part of a season 9 writing contest, where each entrant got a different prompt, with 5 random characters or concepts to include.

Long ago, when Everfree was the capital of Equestria and a thriving city rather than a forest, the Palace of the Royal Pony Sisters was a grand castle which contained many treasures and artifacts. Twilight Sparkle has read a book telling of one particular treasure still hidden there: the Nirucon Stone, which is said to enhance the magical ability of whoever holds it.

Twilight gathers her friends and they venture off into the forest, but they encounter a foe who they thought was just a fictional character: Auhizotl, the villain from the Daring Do books. Turns out, he's a beast who actually exists, and is the self-proclaimed King of the Everfree Forest, ruling from the ruined palace. The good news is that he is willing to part with the stone and even guide the mane six on their way to find it... but the bad news is that he enjoys watching ponies solve challenging and deadly puzzles and riddles on the way.

Will the Mane Six survive his tests and retrieve the stone? Or, unlike Daring Do, are they just not cut out for archaeology?

When they say you are able to break your limits as long as you believe, confidence boils over.

But what if that limit returns after you're no longer who you used to be? Do you still believe to succeed?

What is spirit when reality seeks to crush your dreams?

Is it really the time for Daring Do to quit?

Based off episode 18 of season 7, "Daring Done".

Daring Doo and Ahuizotl have faced off more times than either could count. And here they are again. Facing off for the umpteenth time.

In the grand circus of Equestria's national security, Ahuizotl is but a sideshow. He is little more than a fly buzzing around the armpit of the land, his jungle filled with dying temples and his once proud race almost completely forgotten.

However, he does have his uses.

Daring Do has always saved the world from Ahuizotl. it's a well known fact. but what happens when the whole fate of Equestria hangs in the balance? Ahuizotl plans to search for the tomb of the great threat, Grogar. of course, Daring Do goes to stop him, but an unfortunate turn of events makes them put their differences aside in order to work together in order to save the world. But then another unfortunate event forces Daring Do to make the ultimate choice...to save Ahuizotl, save herself, or to save the world. This might seem like it might be Daring Do's last adventure ever.

Pipp Petals has a big problem. She's fallen in love with Maretime Bay's Sheriff, Hitch Trailblazer. However, when the Book of All Stories is opened, Pipp and Hitch are brought backwards in time via the Time Stitch Crystal to help Barley Tender, Caramel Malt, and the one and only Daring Do rescue some of the pages from the Book.

Can Pipp and Hitch help save the pages from the Book? Will Pipp be able to confess her truest feelings for Hitch? All will be revealed in The Lost City of Abyssinia.

This story was written as part of the "Scattered Pages: Tales from the Book of All Stories" physical book that was sold at Ponyville Ciderfest 2023. It utilizes some elements of in convention lore and convention mascots, specifically the usage of the "Time Stitch Crystal", a plot device used to bring ponies forward or backward in time and its connection to the Pris-Beam Lantern.

This story also takes place during the events of Ponyville Ciderfest 2023, when Fizzy Glitch opens the Book of All Stories and sucks all of the convention inside the world of the Book.

On a lead from her friend A. B. Ravenhoof, Daring Do heads off to the Tenochtitlan Basin to recover the statue of the ancient god. But Daring's troubles are only just beginning as she is sent off on a commission to find the legendary Sacred Stones, items that once held the power to defeat Discord and were last seen shortly before Nightmare Moon was vanquished. The stones have appeared all across Equestria, and Daring Do now has to make her way throughout the land to find them all.

But someone else is interested in the Stones... someone who's slumber has been awakened, who wants to use the Stones to make himself the most powerful being in Equestria, and to take revenge on the one who imprisoned him...

Racing against an unknown foe, Daring Do will need to rely on her wits, ingenuity, and her closest companions. For as a cult of the ancient god rises in Equestria, it's hard to tell who she can trust.

Ahuizotl has locked Daring Do in thirty-seven unique death traps.

Twenty-five of them she escaped from without help; the other twelve Ahuizotl turned off when her vital signs reached dangerous levels. Once he resuscitated her after she nearly drowned. Twice he set her broken bones and nursed her back to health before swearing to destroy her the next time they met.

His reasons are very simple.

While trying to uphold the peace within Rome, Ahuizotl decided it was time to leave Greece for a short time to travel to Egypt for needed rest, but when a certain Queen starts to distract him from his duties, he is left with two choices.

Either he leads Rome... or abandon it forever for his new love.
