Many things are said about Star Swirl, the Bearded. About his wisdom, bravery, and loyalty. Although, if you were to ask him, he would have probably disagreed with you in some way.

So gather 'round to hear the tale of the stallion who would become Star Swirl, the Bearded.

The origin story of Luna, Celestia and the formation of Equestria.

If you lost someone you spent your whole lives with,

Or would you want to punish the culprit who ruined your life?

Before the Bearers of Harmony, before the Sisters, there were others.

Standing at the twilight of her life, Dame Firefly of Dream Valley feels glad to have lived to see the dawn of a new age, heralded by the birth of Celestia and Luna.

But there are old friends with whom she must reunite, and a long-ago place she must revisit, before she can finish finding peace in her heart.

A tale set in the greater universe of Spectrum, though knowledge of that work is not required to understand this short story.

Many years after the fall of the Equus Empire, the Virtue of Hope has helped to establish the Crystal Empire. It is a city she protects with all her power, and with all her love.

One night as she sits in the company Amore, the pony who will one day succeed her as Queen of the Crystal Empire, she is asked by the young unicorn about their shared heritage. Amore, like Hope, had once lived behind the hallowed and shining walls of Roan. Hope, though saddened by the prospect of recalling the city she once ruled over, tells Amore of their homeland.

And of its fall.

A back-story and world building story for the Equus Empire that Witching Hour and myself are slowly building up.

Hope, Strength, Life, Compassion, Love are creations of myself and Witching Hour, as are the Alicorn Shiro and the Drake Jinsong, the Construct Doctor, and the City of Roan.

Long before the rise of ponies, deer ruled most of the world uncontested. It was an age of technological heights and moral lows. Utopia never lasts, and they eventually turned on each other. In this turmoil, the deer created their greatest failure. A creature known as Mallkim emerged. He fed upon the fear and hate, and created an endless winter. Mallkim hunted down and destroyed most of the deer before entering a magical slumber, waiting for another race to rise and provide him with more to feast upon.

Thus, the ponies rose to replace the fallen deer, who had been hunted to near extinction. Fortunately, when Mallkim rose from his slumber, the ponies were ready. The Pillars were warned and assisted by the remaining deer, and the Father of the Silent Winter was sealed away in stone before he could gather his strength. But Mallkim's legend and influence was not squashed to easily.

The deer dedicated themselves to eradicating their mistake from history, destroying every artifact and coven they could find.

Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have ruled Equestria for many generations and have now decided now in this time of peace to step down. While passing the torch to Twilight, they have many things they want to do now that they're free from the constraints of rulership. What could possibly go wrong?

Note: While this is a parody of the (possible) upcoming Season 9 premiere, do know of course this is (again) a parody and does not reflect the events that will probably take place during said premiere.

Long before Twilight and her friends met one another and began reforming villains, equestria had to deal with them much more harshly. To do this, Celestia and Luna once again relied on heroes to solve problems.

Steele Breaker, a young unicorn living with his uncle in a small village, is nothing more than a simple merchant. His talent, however, is swordsmanship. He practices when he can, using a sword left to him by his parents, but he rarely has the free time.

If only he knew just how much that sword was going to come in handy.

What gives a pegasi the ability to fly? In what language does the soil speak, when it talks to an earthpony? And what power does a unicorn may posses, so it can create things out of nothing?
To this question I have devoted many, many days and nights of my long life and I only found it right at the end of said life to write down all my experiences and to share them with the world.

Follow me with my adventures to distant cultures, different kinds of magic and in the end; witness the birth of a nation of which I can only hope to last in peace forever.

After the last battle with Stygian, Starswirl finds himself lost and alone not only in a different dimension, but also in another timeline.

Now he must discover a way to contact the other pillars and more importantly what happened to the Pony of Shadows to ensure at least he has been sent to limbo. But in order to accomplish his objective he must first seek help from the inhabitants of this new world.

Of course he did not count on finding some fellow Equestrian creatures among them. The problem is that one of them might be not so happy to see him again.
