When Rainbow Dash's auditions for animals to be her number one awesomest pet comes to a close, Fluttershy remembers one more animal that would like to audition. And Rainbow Dash begins to spiral into a world of regret and shame, as she realizes that she, the number one coolest pony, has a fear.

Twilight and Applejack have just discovered their feelings for each other, and all is well until their budding romance is interrupted by an urgent missive from Princess Celestia. Now, Twilight finds herself at a crossroads. Will she leave Ponyville and achieve all that she once desired, or will she decide that she has all she needs on an apple farm in Ponyville?

Meanwhile, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are faced with their own choices. Are they just friends, or could they be something more?

This is the sequel to Three's A Crowd. Reading that story isn't required, but it'll give you some additional background.

Could I have seen this coming? Perhaps not, but maybe... maybe I should have. Now, I can only ask myself if I'm strong enough to let you go.

Winona is writing her final thank you to the apple family. She has loved them so much over the years, but she could never tell them. Her time has come to an end on the Equestrian world, something had to of been said.

Returning home after an errand, Fluttershy encounters an escaped unnatural storm from the Everfree Forest heading toward Sweet Apple Acres; determined to save Applejack's life, she sacrifices her own in the process. Later, at the Castle of Friendship, an impostor shows up claiming to be Fluttershy ... but she can't possibly be, can she? She has quite the story to tell Twilight and Applejack about what happened to her.

Some days you save Equestria. Some days you just live a normal life. For Applejack, today has been one of the latter. Nothing interesting or world changing. Just minding her family's cart in the marketplace.

An ordinary day.

Inspired by the 4th and 5th prompts in Obselescence's Most Dangerous Game contest—"Second Person Perspective" and "An OC and a major canon character (such as one of the Mane Six) fall in love with each other"—the original version of this story ended up in 10th place out of 66 entries. Following the Changeling Invasion of Equestria, Twilight and her friends decide to enlist in the army, all 6 of them getting placed in an Equestrian tank. During a mission, they go deep behind enemy lines, where by the day, they go through supply issues, constant enemy resistance, and questions are raised about the ethicality of war. Friendship seems to be cracking and the technological advances seem to be a counterbalance to a thousand years of Harmony. Just how strong can their friendship hold?

Applejack awakens with minor memory loss and hears soft laughter in the woods... Everypony is acting weird around her... avoiding her and even seeming afraid... why?
