Twilight found old diaries by an unknown author in the basements of the Crystal Empire's castle. What will she learn from them?

This story... you could call it plagiarism, because the events in it are based on real events from the human world. There's even a Wikipedia article about them, and a couple of movies have been made. However, here the events will take place in the MLP world, and it's not a fact that they will unfold the same way as in our world.
I'm writing this because I've hit some kind of mental block with my other fanfics: I start writing and then quit, erasing what I wrote. Looks like I need to reboot my brain.

As school is out for the summer and Sunset Shimmer is knee deep in her plans for world domination, she stumbles on what might just be hear greatest weapon yet. The human worlds Twilight Sparkle. Though, what was meant to be a weapon for her to wield may have just become a weapon to be wielded against her in the end.

This story is a sequel to În The Dark

Twilight Sparkle is suffering. And Nightmare Moon is there to help. Will the filly accept the offer? Will the little unicorn be able to see Nightmare Moon's true intent, or will she be blinded by the fear of Princess Celestia's younger sister forever?

In the prison of Kuteseke, an evil, dangerous leader created and led the cause of unicorns being dangerous to Equestria, and that they must be eradicated. He has secretly raided every part of Equestria except for one important landmark: Ponyville.

In the raid, Twilight, Spike, Rarity, and Starlight were captured along with the many unicorns in the dead of night. As they are transported to Kuteseke, they truly realize how evil and deranged the prison is. Despite that, there is still hope on the horizon.

However, the longer they stayed, the more they discover the horrors that are inflicted on the victims. They soon realize that they are more than just tortured prisoners. This is an evil not like anything they have seen before. Will they be able to overcome all the odds and defeat the leader and his followers? Could they save Equestria from this darkness? In a time of grief and hopelessness, faith and their sheer willpower may be the only things they will have… but will that even be enough?

A thousand years ago, Luna transformed into the darkness known as Nightmare Moon, and attacked her sister in rage. She declared that the night shall last forever, and despite her best efforts, Celestia couldn't stop her. The solar princess was banished to the moon, leaving Nightmare Moon the sole ruler of Equestria.

In the present, Shining Armor and his team led a revolt against her, attacking Canterlot. The plot failed, partly due to Nightmare Moon being elsewhere, and everypony but Shining Armor was apprehended.

Now Shining Armor is on the run, having failed against Nightmare Moon, lost his allies, and any potential way to finish his goal.

The summer solstice shall lead to an event that'll change everything...
