No time like the present to review more stories, eh?

I actually read so many stories I had to shuffle a couple stories out of this review set into the next one.

Today’s stories:

The Mystery of the Disappearing Siblings by Jay-The-Brony
Palimpsest by NorrisThePony
Best Friends, Too by shortskirtsandexplosions
Hatred by SapphireLibra3

Read It Now Reviews #76 – A Million Little Lights, Dragons Speak, The Most Powerful Dragon in Equestria Visits for Tea, A Friendly Letter from Chrysalis, Involuntary · 2:27am Apr 19th, 2016

It has been a while since I did a set of Read It Now reviews. I actually started this one all the way back in March, and then forgot about finishing it out until this weekend, when I decided to get another review set done and actually read some recent stuff.

Today’s set contains a pair of episode reaction stories, a story with an interesting premise about Celestia and her ability to see the future, a story about Chrysalis sending Cadance a letter, and a story about… well, wingboners.

Read It Later Reviews #58 – Stupid Tree, A Confederacy of Dunce Caps, Minuette Sleeps Her Way to the Top, Page Two · 9:41pm Oct 31st, 2016

This was originally destined to be Read It Now Reviews #93, and was mostly written all the way back in September.

Then I kept on putting off finishing reading A Confederacy of Dunce Caps for no good reason.

Today, I found the time to finally finish it off… but by this point, now is really later.

Still, that’s no excuse not to post reviews!

Today’s stories:

Stupid Tree by Baal Bunny
A Confederacy of Dunce Caps by Estee

Read It Now Reviews #52 – Get Clean!, Inevitable, Doll Judgement, Chronopthisis, Attack of the Mutated Zombie Orc Ninjas · 10:55pm Sep 10th, 2015

24,331 words.

That is the present length of Mistletrapped, whose first draft I have, at long last, completely finished, all the way through the epilogue.

I’m going to be editing it over the next few days, but you should expect the entire rest of that story to be posted somewhere within the space of the next week or so.

Read It Now Reviews #45 – Just As Planned, Family Resemblance, The Knight and the Knave, In From the Cold, Figments · 9:40pm Aug 12th, 2015

This came from a pretty eclectic variety of sources; two writeoff stories, a story from a writeoff writer which is unrelated to the writeoff, a featured story, and a random story that got recommended to me by Sharp Spark. Quite the variety pack of stories - but how will they hold up?

Spoiler alert: reasonably well.

Today’s stories:

Just As Planned by billymorph
Family Resemblance by HapHazred
The Knight and the Knave by Trick Question

Read It Now Reviews #64 – Why Can’t I Be Your Rara?, In the Dark of the Night, The Trial of Fluttershy Flutters, I Was Nothing, For the Birds · 10:11pm Dec 10th, 2015

I’ve been remiss in doing reviews (and reading ponyfics, for that matter), and I figured I’d change that today. I actually have two sets of these ready – both this, and a Read It Later set that I’ll be posting tomorrow. Hopefully, all of this reading will encourage me to get some more writing done of my own.

Today’s stories:

Why Can’t I Be Your Rara? by Oroboro
In the Dark of the Night by Dragonjek
The Trial of Fluttershy Flutters by Masterweaver

Read It Now Reviews #49 – Great Big Sky, The Rainbow’s Realisation, The Interview, Everypony Lives, Mamunia · 12:00am Aug 30th, 2015

Today’s Read it Now Reviews are brought to you by procrastination. Procrastination – where you get everything done except the thing with an actual due date.

Though at least it finally made me catch up on SS&E’s recent works, read a few RariLight stories (a ship that I have long-neglected to read many stories about), and make more progresss on Mistletrapped.

Great Big Sky by shortskirtsandexplosions

Read It Later Reviews #76 – Unstable Sale, Morning in the Kitchen, I Can Wait, Scootadate, A Watchful Changeling · 12:36am Jun 1st, 2017

This set almost became an Estee story only set. Then I ended up reading one other story, then a second… and then it became a normal review set.

Also, every one of Estee’s stories that I haven’t read yet is 20k+ words long. And I’ve been saying I’d read bookplayer’s Lost Time, Cold in Gardez’s Salvation

I’m so good at putting off getting stuff read that I’m sure I’ll find fascinating.

Still, there was some good stuff in here.

The Writeoff Association is a great way to produce a large volume of work. Unfortunately, at times it can also be a great way to produce a large volume of stories that you wrote in a short period of time and then need to spend some time cleaning up, resulting in a large backlog of stories which need some serious editorial love.

Review and Discuss #5 – Arrow 18 Mission Logs: Lone Ranger, Arrow 18 Mission Logs: Sparkle’s Notes · 3:01am Jul 8th, 2015

In anthropology, there is a concept known as “First Contact” – the first contact between an isolated civilization and the world at large, or between two civilizations which have never before come in contact with one another.

In science fiction, the concept has been extended to first contact between species – typically, between humans and aliens, though occasionally otherwise.

Read It Later Reviews #74 – Twice Shy, The Best of Tensions, Hurricane Watch, Appellation Mountains, A Teatime Visit · 8:42pm May 3rd, 2017

Wow, it has been a while since I posted a review set.

I’ve actually been sitting on most of this review set for almost a month for no good reason. I’ve read a few stories here and there, but I’ve been trying to convince myself that I was going to get my next story done Soon, and thus should be working on that. I’ve also been somewhat avoiding the site because I managed to fall behind on season 7, having not yet watched a single episode from it.

Read It Later Reviews #53 – In Her Majesty’s Absence, When There Are No More Stories To Tell, Chocolate Talk, Are You A Bad Pony?, “Thanks, Mom” · 8:28pm Jul 31st, 2016

While clearing out my “Read It Now” bookshelf of stories which were more than a month old, I ended up noticing a number of stories that I had put off reading that had what seemed to be intriguing premises and got sucked into reading them instead of cleaning out my bookshelf.

Oh, well.
