Fic Review: Dino Saurian Rex · 5:44pm Apr 11th, 2018
Okay, so starting fic reviews again, and today, I've got a real hum-dinger for you. And I don't mean that in the good sense. How bad is it? Well, I'll let Hades do the talking for you...
Okay, so starting fic reviews again, and today, I've got a real hum-dinger for you. And I don't mean that in the good sense. How bad is it? Well, I'll let Hades do the talking for you...
Okay, aside from posting a blog on one of my stories asking from opinions, I got a new review to give you. Won't take you but a few minutes to read, ergo quickie reviews. Hell, pulled right from the comment section of the story in question.
The story in question?
Okay, after that last piece of... well, I'll let Ian Malcolm explain, (Squees at his return for Fallen Kingdom) I've got something that's actually worth your time. Mind you, I won't be reading the whole one shot, just pointing out specific things as always. More after the break.
Okay, new year, and that means new story reviews both good and bad. And today, we start off with a real whopper. I don't actually mean that in a bad sense, it's just that it's a rather long one-shot topping slightly over 8,000 words I think? Been putting it off for various reasons, not just because of the length but because I needed to figure out how to word certain things. Even now I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to word things right. But one of my Resolutions was to do this story at some
After reading Starscribe's The Last Pony on Earth, I was intrigued to learn more about the setting and scenario he'd created. Enter the aforementioned group and a handy list of stories that... At this point, I don't remember how I chose these. <.< But they're mostly short and run the gamut from "really good" to "really not so
90 fucking entries, you're damn right I'm splitting this in half. For starters, it'll give me some peace of mind, but more importantly, it's gonna make my notes document a little less unwieldy, important when it comes to reading stuff on my Kindle.
Okay, I’ll be the first to admit I’m a sucker for a good Twixie story. Or good Sunlight story, or good Tempestlight story. This story is… none of those things. Thank You Mistress is… something.
Okay, Canterlot Wedding stories. Yes, these are still a thing amazingly. Decided to try and take a quack at reviewing what seems to be one of the better ones out there, going in completey unbiased and seeing what I think of it. More after the break.
Luna-tic Scientist's Days of Wasp and Spider is one of those old, old stories I was always interested in — mostly because of the title — but never could get around to reading until now.
Knight Breeze's What I've Become might not be a name you've heard before, but given its stats, especially the over 60,000 views, I feel safe calling it a fandom classic. :) Major spoilers ahead for a ten-year-old story!
It's been a trip, but here we are again, my friends. The Sunset Shipping Contest returns, with a new focus on journeys and established relationships. 66 entries were written, totalling 476k words. (And 25 pages of review. c.c) 476k! That's longer than Background Pony! D: Which I still haven't started reading…
I don't usually do news before vs. posts, but Wanderer D is in need of your help! He doesn't deserve this, go give him a hand!
Okay, time for another fic review. If that last one made you think, good for you. I like making people think. This one... Probably won't do so much. More after the break.
Jake the Army Guy recently ran another Horse Words Extravaganza contest, and I apparently agreed to review one of the finalists. This of course means two things: a solo post, and a lengthier one than I might otherwise have done. It needs to be special. :)
OH MY GOD I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM DONE
Almost done with season one. The marathon is going a bit slower than ideal. I've also been writing down bits of canon as they get mentioned. A couple of episodes in I decided I wanted to see what was actually in the show. So places, creatures, etc. At he end of season one the list is four pages long. One of the reasons why we all like the show I guess. So much fun stuff.
Okay, this time, I'll be doing a short, 2,000 word one shot. Taking a jab at something I normally couldn't give a damn about, an Anon-A-Miss fic. And yet, somehow it's detached just enough from the comic and all the spin-off accusation fics that I read that make me hate the sub-genre so much I can't really call it an Anon-A-Miss fic. Interested? More after the break.
Okay, two reviews in less than 48 hours? Heresy! ...Okay, in actuality I had more time than I usually do today, and I needed something to do that didn't involve me risking creative burn-out writing wise so... here you go.
Back during the Bleeding Raindrops blog, I said I was skipping his reading of Sweet Apple Massacre and that it was "for the best of all involved".
