The title is like that for a reason: if you don't hate Equestria Girls, don't do the survey. Simple.
Other than that, rant and rave if you do. I want to hear everything you hate, because hopefully, in the future, I will be able to change most of it.
Some of my thoughts about the Equestria Girls universe:
It's that time of year again. Time that I announce my brand new series for the next few months: Equestria Girls 4: Legend of Everfree!
With the likelyhood that the fourth Equestria Girls film will come before Season 6, now would be a good time to look at a few things the franchise could do to be even better. "Rainbow Rocks" managed to improve over its predecessor in some ways, and "Friendship Games" managed to convince me the series could stand on its own. But all three movies still had some problems that should be considered when making the next one.
In the hiatuses (Some part of me insists the plural should be hiati. It is not.) between seasons three and four as well as four and five, two movies featuring an alternate, parallel reality to Equestria inhabited by humanoid creatures were released under the name of Equestria Girls.
The parallel world featured in the movies is accessed from Equestria via a magical mirror dating back up to Star Swirl the Bearded.
Does it bother anybody else that Starlight's the only (standard character design) character whose eye shape changes between pony and human? (The alicorns and Tall Unicorns like Fleur don't count because they have nonstandard eye shapes in pony form.)
Am I the only one who thinks that a scene involving Sunset telling the Humane Five that ponys in Equestria have prehensile tails(I'm almost certain that Pinkie is the only one with a prehensile mane) would be funny?
Please link me to a fic that has this scene in it somewhere.
So I was thinking about monster AU for Equrista girls fics, where we have elves and angels to be counterparts for Unicorns and Pegasus. I’m not completely okay with using angels but they work so well. I think I will run into some problems with the wings because people where shirts.
Also, would need to change Sci-Twi’s power for the AU because telekineses would be normal there. Is Teleportation too obvious?
Alicorns will be referred to as Archangels.
So I have been thinking a lot about the girls, their powers and what I could do to expand on their power sets since the show really just goes bare bones with it. Like seriously each of the girls can use magic but can only do so much with the magical abilities that they have and frankly Sunset's power is pretty lame and doesn't do much to actually you know...protect her or help her in situations that don't require her to touch people. Like seriously out of all the Rainbooms its clear she knows
I don't really like them. The humans look like they are suffering from some sort of horrible skin disease. Flash Sentry is a bland character, not the whole waifu stealing thing. It's in High School, enough said.
It was made to sell more toys. If they looked more like actual humans and it wasn't in High School, I may of liked it.
That's my thoughts. All that said, some of Twilight's human-horse behaviour was funny. I wish they did more of that.
This time it's a crossover idea. Equestria Girls x Max Steel.
This idea came to me wile marathoning a few episodes of Max Steel and thinking "What would happen if an Ultralink linked with someone who has magic in them?"
Not my best idea ever, but I'd still like to see someone do something with this idea.
Please link me to any story with this crossover, whether you wrote it or not.
Just this weekend I decided to put some effort into finishing Magic, Magic Everywhere by Perdita Finn, one of the books I got for my birthday, and all I'm going to say before I review it is that I regret every single second of it.
Let me be slightly more specific here. It sucked because of terrible writing along with a confusing plot.
So this is it, friends. Like a hobo sucking down the last few drops of 7-11 wine straight from the bottle, we come to THE LAST OF PONY. Or, uh, at least the last of the pony 'til Hasbro kicks up a G5 in a couple of years or so. For whatever reason (vain hope, mostly), I'd thought this was gonna be another of those 45-minute mini-movies, and what we got was ... not that. Then again, the main pony-show did a couple of holiday episodes already, including the obligatory A Christmas Carol riff, so
...would if anypony would read a fic involving some of the girls experiencing a NASCAR race for the first time. It would be SoL and Comedy as the tags if I did it. Just a 4am thought that's keeping me awake...
I’d like to discuss a truly wonderful little moment in Legend of Everfree. Let’s just slap on one of these to make sure this is safe for those who haven’t yet seen the movie and plan on doing so:
Wait, actual shorts happened? I only know of them because of PP's post.
Anyway, here's a link to the EQD post containing them... ---> Link <---
And now some one-two sentence reactions to each of them:
if y'all read that title correctly, then go to this link for what I'm talking about!!! ----------> https://www.equestriadaily.com/2018/01/new-1-hour-equestria-girls-special.html
