So I have been thinking a lot about the girls, their powers and what I could do to expand on their power sets since the show really just goes bare bones with it. Like seriously each of the girls can use magic but can only do so much with the magical abilities that they have and frankly Sunset's power is pretty lame and doesn't do much to actually you know...protect her or help her in situations that don't require her to touch people. Like seriously out of all the Rainbooms its clear she knows the most about magic and should be the most powerful however the most powerful ones(understandably) are Pinkie, Rainbow & Applejack.
So here I wanna take some time to flesh out their powers(Keep in mind this will be how I also show their powers working in fics I write when they have them)
Pinkie Pie: Kinetic Touch(Anything she touches can be charged with magical energy powered by her levels of happiness) Elasticity(Think Monkey D. Luffy and yes that includes gears.) Rock hardening(ability special to pinkie that allows her to channel earth pony strength and harden her physical attacks for more power) Sugar Rush (Pinkie gets faster and more powerful the more sugar she consumes)
Fluttershy: Spirit Animal(Gives Fluttershy the ability to summon astral animal spirits to help her fight) Fauna Talk(ability to talk to animals) Healing Touch. One with the wind(Airbending)
Rarity: Diamond constructs(Rarity can make anything she wants out of diamond like a green lantern ring)
Applejack: Super strength and durability(Can get tossed through a building and get up like it didn't happen)
Rainbow Dash: Super speed, flight, weather manipulation(Can create lightning clouds etc)
Twilight Sparkle: Magic in general where she can cast spells, teleport, etc etc.
Sunset Shimmer: Harmony- Similar to that of One of All(BHA) Sunset has the ability to access any magical power her friends have an using her iniate dormant reverses of unicorn magic(She can't channel it all because she has no horn as a conduit) to increase the levels of power to insane degrees. If all her friends are present in one location she can draw in energy from all 6 of them at once and can morph into Daydream Shimmer which is her ultimate form.

Well, Spring Breakdown made it official that they all can fly, for some reason...
I was a little surprised that Sunset wasn't given Rogue-like powers where, in addition to reading people's minds, she could temporarily borrow her friends' powers. Of course that might cause conflict with Marvel.
Though, something I've been wondering for a while is what long-term effects Sunset's powers may have on her.

Do all the girls have to be immediately around her to channel their energies and become daytime or can they be a certain distance because if so.........
