Alicorn Reviews: My Little Pony: Mirror Magic Review · 2:36pm Feb 6th, 2018

A new edition of Pony Central is up as we take look at last of the three specials from last year. These specials diffidently helped EQG as the movie format felt limited compared to its pony counterpart. Before these specials, the movie format never expanded on the world at a normal pace like it's seen in FIM. I always mentioned this in my earlier reviews on EQG and its reason why so many characters are properly built up in FIM. I don't see them changing this format next year either since Hasbro sees no value in a 13 episode season but would rather use 2-3 minute shorts. My biggest gripe from this is how the Dazzlings get shafted so often which will be recurring thing throughout 2018. It weren't surprise me if Hasbro would rather do FlashLight (Pony TwilightxFlash) once again then to ever focus on the best characters of Gen 4.

Mirror Magic continues the arc with Juniper as she got reduced to a movie theater janitor for her actions. She attempted to steal the props to frame Chestnut but would only get caught by the HuMane Seven. She finds a mirror with one of the orbs going into it and now she's mesmerized by its magic. The special was the most anticipated one of the three from the Bronies because of Starlight Glimmer making her appearance in EQG. I remember how this came out of left field when it was announced as we assumed this was the human counterpart. Once it got revealed by the episode's preview that this was in fact the FIM Starlight, it immediately became an interesting and controversial topic. It's yet again another example that EQG (despite what the haters want to believe) is canon to FIM. Seriously, how many facts do they need to drop their stuck up notion that EQG is truly considered canon. I don't know what to tell you haters as by now we have four cases that only prove this.
