First of all...
SO.
For starters, The Prisoner of Zebra has been featured at the Royal Canterlot Library. Woo! As apparently, even (especially?) when I delve into the most obscure kinds of stuff I can think of, I am best at ponies.
Sooooo, one of my resolutions this year was to work on more original fiction, and less fanfiction.
And a little over two weeks in, we can see how THAT went! Womp womp.
No, not that one fanfic I wrote. (Though it does feature the first mention of Gnollpoleon! Running gags, people!)
Y'see, by "Get Down on Friday" I apparently mean "Go on a 3,000 word writing bender and finish that silly mystery story that all of like two dozen people will actually read."
Firstly, I'm planning on opening a contest this Friday. There's a hint as to the theme below the fold:
Watch some delicate emotions fold together in today's story.
Paper Butterflies
[Sad] [Slice of Life] • 3,756 words
Here's my current progress on the fics I'm writing.
Pronotum - 99.9% (Awaiting proofreading)
Synopsis: Queen Chrysalis has trusted her son with a very important mission to Ponyville, and he's determined to make her proud.
Bloodlines - 33.3%
Synopsis: When a pony can neither fade to black nor go towards the light, the only place left for them is the twilight of undeath.
Feel free to reply here or there.
So a little while back, I made a joke about "The Ecstasy of Golden Harvest" as the title of a story I'd never write. Which got me listening to a bunch of Morricone ... which started giving me ideas.
Well I know what Chryssie's wedding dress will look like now. Whoever knew she could be that adorable?
SO.
I admit it. Part of my reasoning behind The Springtime Sequel-Slash-Sandbox Switcheroo was to get somebody to write fanfiction of my fanfiction, because I am terribly, terribly vain.
And it worked!
So. The next issue of the comic came out literally a week after the end of the Homecoming arc. At this point, I’m starting to think they’re deliberately taunting me. Why can’t IDW meet the same professional standards of regularity as many webcomics?
But for now, we’re wrapping up the Flash Sentry Papers.
Alright, time for another update. First off I want to both thank all of you for reading Harmonious Destiny and being patient with me during these long breaks.
Feel free to reply here or there.
It's Friday night, and I've got nothing better to do, so, uh ... here's a handful of BronyCon pics!
First off, The Lines. People weren't kidding about 'em. Seriously, here's what the line to the Vendor's Hall looked like on Thursday afternoon. You'd think they were giving out free drugs in there or something.
So, yeah. Merry Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, whatever have you.
I have news for you!
My brother got Titanfall 2 in his stocking, so that's a story in the pipeline.
Plus, as per your advice, Clockwork will be given live as a story as well. (Check out the blog called I need advice to see more about Clockwork.)
Now, here's some Sword Art Online news.
So. Since IDW interprets “Available December 2020” as “Available one or more seconds before January 2021,” we’re going to cycle back to the Flash Sentry Papers and cover the back half of Tumbleweed’s compiled archive.
So I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but I was stupid and started playing video games a couple months back. I haven't played video games in years, but over the last month I've gotten precious little done that wasn't statistics work or video gaming[1].
So I was going to write a 'regular' pony story. You know, something centered on some of the Mane 6 (Rarity, Applejack, & Twilight, most specifically) dealing with a strange problem and a bizzare creature and what have you. I even wrote up an outline in a notebook back when I was goofing around in the woods awhile back.
Aaaaaand I sat down to write it out, and ... it wasn't quite clicking. That, and I was gonna toss Zecora in, and I wasn't quite up for writing some garbled rhymes.
I can draw.
