Hopefully you've heard the news, but in case you haven't, Ponyville Ciderfest 2023 will be an interactive celebration of writers, and we'd love for you to join us! We'll be back in Milwaukee in late October/early November (dates pending)!
a couple weeks ago, at the cosplay contest at Ponyville Ciderfest, i learned that the judges have a bias toward handmade cosplays (closet cosplays are valid too!) and it motivated me to actually make something that i've had an idea for ever since i watched "Spike At Your Service"

Now that is out of the way, its time for one of those updates as to tell yo why the hell I have not been updating any of my stories. So lets begin with the multi-chapter stories.
Ponyville Bachelor Auction
As you're probably aware of by now, Ponyville Ciderfest had a fanfiction-driven event wherein attendees discovered hashtags which unlocked stories on their app, and chose an ending of the story to score points for good, evil, or chaos. Ironically there was back-end worry that good would naturally steamroll, but chaos ended up winning out. As you probably noticed, there was one important character who never got the spotlight in the previous book series. No, not Spike. He's not important like the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Well, they kinda count as one character, usually. Except when they don't.
The Elements were quite put out over Gabby Gums' articles. Shepherd though was rather unimpressed.
Rarity: "How can you be so blase over this-this atrocity of a column!"
Shepherd: *shrugs* "Do remember I've had much worse, Rarity. I mean, the kingdom's tabloids routinely say I'm some sort of hedonistic monkey who plows every mare and stallion in Equestria."
Rarity: "Yes, yes, but that's all untrue! Just sensationalism! Gabby Gums is publishing real secrets about us!"
An inquiry from Jeffh4 for some details on House Path, led me to do a little background world building....
House Path's primary campus is in Griffonia. The other major campuses so far are in Ponyville and the Crystal City. There are sub-branches in Canterlot, Manehattan, Baltimare, and Vanhoover, with plans for further branches as time and resources permit.

Story One: Johnny vs. Ponyville
It's becoming less likely that the next scheduled chapter of To Serve In Hell will get done by 11/1. Preparations for Ponyville Ciderfest this coming weekend have been sucking up my free time, and I have some things I need to read for people ASAP... it's just best to call it now. I'm going to aim for either 11/15 or 12/1, and I'll post back once I figure that out.
My one-shot story from May has just gotten a new chapter, this time a parallel story from Celestia's point of view. It took me a lot of time to write it as close to show canon as possible, plus properly develop my own ideas that work with canon.

This review is going to be difficult for me, I'm not going to lie.
Its not that this is a bad fanfic, its actually really good, the thing is that its not only sad, it also hits me on a personal level. This is a good fanfic that sets out to tell its story and does it very well.
