Hey, did you know I write non-pony things?
Like, actual original writing. Not other fandoms (I used to, but my Final Fantasy and MegaMan stuff ended years ago — although the ridiculous self-insert Final Fantasy 7/Final Fantasy 8/Dragonball Z/Sorcerer Hunters/Star Trek TNG/Kirby/(I forget the rest, but at least one scene involved the ghost of Bob Dole, who died in chapter one, attacking the heroes with a minigun) crossover lasted a surprisingly long time).
I mean, I couldn’t well miss this one, could I? Even though chapter books don’t have a good track record in terms of self-consistent canonicity, Starlight Glimmer’s has got to be at least a little interesting, right?
It should come as no surprise that I like to read. On top of that, I like to TALK about (or, well, given the internet, type about) what I'm reading. Unfortunately, I don't have too many real life friends who are into pony, and so I usually don't bring it up to them. (The term 'closeted' comes to mind). And so, lacking any other outlet ... how about a book review?

Frankly, I was surprised when this turned up, I didn’t expect there to be an Equestria Girls chapter book.
I expected a book that matches the movie trailers scene for scene and song for song even less, so if you are not spoiler-resistant, don’t read this, I won’t hold it against you.
Even though her first encounter with him was almost completely negative (except for the fact that he’s so frigging hot like whoa), Bella’s next day at school is terrible because Edward isn’t there. She keeps expecting him to show up, as if he’s skipping school to wind her up. She suspects his absence is her fault, which I can kinda see, but is also ridiculous and egotistical (something she herself points out, but that doesn’t make it not ridiculous and egotistical).
So I have some big news!
The first, as many of you probably know, is that I have written a squeal to my story Growing Down called How to Cuddle Your Dragon.
It's for a contest that I (hopefully) can place in but it's also just more fun Pike content if you liked that in Growing Down.
It’d rained in the previous chapter, but Bella wakes up to find the weather cold enough freeze the rain solid, coating everything in a layer of ice and turning the roads into an ice rink. Naturally, school’s cancelled; there’s no way the school’s going to let students drive out in those conditions.
No, wait. School’s not cancelled. Students have to drive out in those conditions.
Holy crap was this chapter uneventful.
Bella’s dream of Edward can be summed up like this: “Edward’s so frigging hot like whoa, but I can’t get to him.” (By the way, I’m not exaggerating with working that phrase into every post thus far. Nearly every mention of Edward talks about how beautiful he is.)
Wow, guys. Just wow. I've been floored by the reaction to The Indie Hypocrisy. And with good reason.
After a little more waiting, Alice gets another convenient vision of James in another room. When she sketches out the room, Bella recognizes it as her mother’s family room; James is going after Renee to get to Bella. Fortunately, the rest of the Cullens will be arriving in Phoenix soon. (Side note: there’s two or three more times when Bella says something stupid about Edward’s absence, like, “Just a few more hours to keep breathing till he was here.”, but I’m giving up commenting on them.

So if you haven't heard, Aquaman wants to open a bookstore at Bronycon next year as part of a FimFiction send-off to the convention. I think this is a badass idea and want everything to do with it.

Alrighty then. I've laid the ground work and now the final sign has come at last. The three books that I originally placed on the Cancelled list are going to be disappearing for good soon.
