Steampunk Fairy Tales · 5:05am Mar 26th, 2016
Hey, did you know I write non-pony things?
Like, actual original writing. Not other fandoms (I used to, but my Final Fantasy and MegaMan stuff ended years ago — although the ridiculous self-insert Final Fantasy 7/Final Fantasy 8/Dragonball Z/Sorcerer Hunters/Star Trek TNG/Kirby/(I forget the rest, but at least one scene involved the ghost of Bob Dole, who died in chapter one, attacking the heroes with a minigun) crossover lasted a surprisingly long time).
In this case, it's a steampunk retelling of a fairy tale, and it's part of an anthology of such works, including one by my wife.
A toyshop owner builds a set of magic clockwork dolls that delight a factory town. A three-inch tall samurai faces a giant iron ogre with only a sewing needle and a coin. A scientist seeks an antidote to his formula gone wrong, with the help of his partner’s beautiful daughter.
All of these stories and more are included in Steampunk Fairy Tales. Written by authors from three different continents, every enchanting tale combines the futuristic Victorian concept of steam and fashion with memorable stories, like Jack and the Beanstalk, to other popular and unfamiliar works from Germany, France, Italy, and Japan.
Here's the Facebook event group for the book launch.
It's going to be free for download, so there's no reason to not check it out.
Also, we're trying to build up attention for the release of the book, so spreading this would be appreciated.
