Okay, normally it takes a very special FIMFic story to move me to either upvote it or downvote it. Askre and I have talked about this subject a few times outside of FIMFiction, but in the context of snap judging a story without reading it. I’ve expressed my extreme distaste for people who hit that thumb up/thumb down button based on their own bias towards the subject matter. I am sure all of us have been there…seeing some tags just push our buttons the wrong way, whether it be on the subjects
Per usual I stole this writing meme from Ice Star because I don't follow nearly enough people here.
1. Tell us about your current project(s) – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?
Current active project is a Jinglemas entry I can say nothing about. But of course I'm sure we mean the likes of my chaptered stories.
I was at the dentist yesterday. Because of a particular, severe pain in the entire right half of my mouth. I thought of something rather benevolent as the cause, but as it is the case so often, reality is much worse. It turned out that my upper-right wisdom tooth is making problems. It caused a huge, blue swelling on my gums right next to it and that is where the pain comes from. According to the dentist I saw yesterday, the only way to fix this is to get the tooth removed. How's that for a six

anyhow, news time for fics.
Uhh, hi guys! I've been a very busy Ice lately and haven't had much time to blog lately but I'm fixing that now to fill you folks in on what I've been doing and stuff. First off, I'm delighted that you people have been reading my stories. With the re-write of Crystalline coming out there's been a huge increase in 'ohmigosh Ice writes stuff and I wanna read it'. Just yesterday I got two PMs about what order to read my

Note: If you haven't seen Ultra Fast Pony up to episode 52, this might not make sense. (but it might still be funny)
Well, I actually fucking got it. Been working for the past three weeks at my first proper job in years, and I have even better news than that.
So how has work been? Well, it's taken me two weeks to post an already-written, already-edited, already-published-in-an-exclusive-con-book story, so I think that's your answer.
But anyway, onto the story notes!
There is some good news now. I've been at a first dentist appointment on Tuesday to get a preliminary examination and when the exact tooth that causes the problem was identified, it turned out that it's not a wisdom tooth (or molar, like they are also called, thank you pony author whose vocabulary is bigger than mine), but the second-to-last tooth on the upper right side. Which means, that the tooth doesn't have to go out.
Stalk Me While I Write Sunday is again live right NOW. Find out why King Sombra lost the Crystal Empire because of Discord, Shining Armor hates his new in-laws and the crystal ponies are laughing hysterically at their new Prince Regent.

Ways to un-stick a stuck story by firemoon42
• Do an outline, whatever way works best. Get yourself out of the word soup and know where the story is headed.
• Conflicts and obstacles. Hurt the protagonist, put things in their way, this keeps the story interesting. An easy journey makes the story boring and boring is hard to write.
So... Yeah, I'm stroking my own ego a little with this one, but I realised earlier that I've published over 100,000 words of pony fiction on this site in the last six months. Considering that this is my first writing venture (like seriously, before Fimfic the closest I had got to creative writing was lyrics) I'm quite pleased with my progress. When I started, I didn't expect things to go this quickly, especially considering the quiet months between March and May (where I posted like two
Another year, another in my series of Idea Graveyard posts, where I discuss an idea of mine that failed to get off the ground for one reason or another. What made me discard the idea, and why haven’t I tried again. Today’s subject is different from my previous failures: its shortcomings are more narrow and simple, but in some ways that makes them harder to fix.
