Sometimes, past and present blend together, making it hard to decide what is real and what is not. It can create wonderful dreams, but sadly, also the most wonderful nightmares.

They take the mountains, trees, and river for granted, as things that have always been there, and always will be there. But every once in a while, a pony will stop and ask why. One faithful night, Luna asks these very questions. What will Luna think of such knowledge, especially if it is served by an unexpected aider?

Twilight doesn’t know what to think of it, but she soon will. Too soon, she sees that things seldom go as expected, and she finds herself hiding in her own nightmare.

That’s something Twilight discovers as she tries to come to terms with her feelings about Luna and tell the alicorn about them. Whatever she tries isn’t helping her and talking was never an option. What will happen if she invites Luna to a night of stargazing? Will her heart be able to resist, or will she finally set free her love?

The idea of a herd is not a new one in Equestria society. Throughout the years many different ponies have engaged in the activity, most of those have been royalty or the like. Ponies that loved many different suitors and couldn’t just choose one.

When Spitfire agreed to create her own, she ran into a small issue of a certain rainbow-maned cadet joining up. While not unprecedented in the history of Equestria, it does run into the small issue of fraternization with a cadet, something very much frowned upon.

Equestria, the land of harmony. But how could such a land exist for a thousand years? The short and sweet of it is: it can’t. The price of peace is often bloodshed and violence.

It is the bat-ponies that pay this price, that keep Equestria peaceful and harmonious. They operate without the knowledge of the other races. With the help of the princesses, they’ve maintained this façade for a thousand years. However, even with their centuries of experience not even the princesses are experts at war. They’re good at it, great even, but it’s not their talent.

When a mare emerges whose special talent is war itself, she is quickly elevated through the ranks to put her talents to use for the good of all of Equestria. But for one to command, they must have the unwavering trust of everyone under them. Can Celestia give her this trust?

And if not, who will pay the price for it?
