Nopony ever said the friendship between Fluttershy and Discord would be an easy one. The difference in their life expectancies doesn’t help, but that’s a problem Discord can fix with a snap of the talons—that is, until Fluttershy finds out. Discord isn’t one to give up easily, though. He’ll do anything to keep his one and only friend. Anything.

Discord is reformed and now on the path towards becoming a productive member of society. To help him stay on the straight and narrow, Fluttershy begins to write letters to him, with the two quickly becoming pen pals. With their sharing of letters, Fluttershy begins to learn more about the conundrum known as Discord, while Discord learns what it truly means to be a friend.

Well, I sure didn't expect some girl to just show up out of nowhere. Poor girl. She's got to have amnesia, or something, (although she insists she doesn't) because even though she looks to be about my age, she's claiming that she isn't human. Or wasn't. Great, she's delusional, too.
But you know what? That's okay. She's a nice girl. She just seems to be confused. I suppose I can let her stay a while until she sorts things out.

Fluttershy has a delicate situation. She has been fussed over by a certain stallion, yet another colt is after her as well. Soarin and Big Macintosh are competing fiercely for Fluttershy's affection. The yellow filly doesn't know what to do; the two stallions aren't consulting her for the decision, but it wouldn't matter either way, as she doesn't have a clue which stallion she'll choose.

Destiny is a funny thing.

Sometimes, at the drop of a hat, our destiny can change. Sometimes, we don't even notice it, and what we end up with is something that doesn't belong. Even after our true friends step in to right what was wrong, a false destiny can leave something behind, and all you can do is ignore it... or embrace it.
