Sound Familiar?

I was told recently that writing wasn't really a form of art. I bet the guy who told me that, that I'd 'draw' a picture using only 1000 words, and make it as effective as any drawn portrait out there... this is what came out of it.

Writing is a powerful tool, one that allows you to imagine settings and occasions as vibrantly as if it were drawn out in front of you (often even beyond that, as if you were in the setting, seeing the world from a first hand account).

I hope whoever runs into this story enjoys!

This story was directly based off 'Awoken': Wooden Toaster and H8 seed's spirited successor to the Rainbow Factory.

Food for thought, folks. I wrote this story on my own time and Obab later added extra material, three years later, when she converted the story into her audio production. She did not participate in the original production (if that was not clear already). If you read the story below you'll see the original, untampered text!

The decline into darkness had been easy enough... but when a high ranking Rainbow Factory employee begins to loose faith in the program and attempts to leave, things get out of hoof.

Having lived the majority of his life in the twisted building known as the Rainbow Factory-climbing up the brutal ladder and eventually becoming an Orchestrator-a lone colt finds the atrocity's he's committed in his past coming back to haunt him in his waking hours.

Driven by the need to return to normal society and the thought of redemption, he devises a risky plan that will ultimately decide the very fate of the Rainbow Factory as it's come to be known.

Hey, everyone. OtterMatt here. Just for the record, I’m not coming back to FimFic. Not ever. I’m sorry to say it, but my life has moved on, as it were, and writing just isn’t a part of it anymore. That being said, I love these stories of mine very much. There’s a lot of myself that I put into them, and at least a couple people have told me that these stories meant a lot to them as well. Rainbow Dash taught Scootaloo everything she needed to live her dreams. Scoot is a Wonderbolt now, while Rainbow Dash never even tried out. But when Dash passes away suddenly, Scoot is left with one lesson Rainbow Dash refused to teach her, the lesson that tore apart their friendship.

But maybe there's still time to learn something from her idol, and the way she lived her life.

After the Regret, Rainbow Dash is separated from the other Elements in a ruined Equestria. Having been given orders by the dying Princess Celestia to find the other Elements of Harmony and rebuild the world as the new deities, Rainbow Dash sets out to find the friends she was separated with. The fact that she saved Scootaloo was a complete accident.

An accident that would change the course of Equestria.

These short poems have been written in times of emotional struggle, in times of happiness, in times of sadness, in times of procrastination, and when inspiration strikes at just the right time. Some of these poems are lyrics that I have turned into (unreleased) songs, some of these poems were simply inspired by songs. Scootaloo loves her mother more than any other pony on the planet. On this particular night, however, her mother has a rather unsettling message for the young filly, and Scootaloo doesn't exactly realize the impact that it delivers.

Based on a poem/song I wrote entitled "Don't Cry"

Stone is the very antecedent of life itself. It is cold, unmoving, and unfeeling. Discord is stone now, trapped by the Elements of Harmony wielded by six ponies that represented them. Stone, when undisturbed, is worn down by the sands of time, forever flowing over its hard, cold surface. The sands of time pour forever.

Rainbow Dash has always been around her friends, never one to abandon them in the face of danger. Even after she joined the Wonderbolts, she never gave up a chance to go and hang out with them. Her life has always been devotion to those who loved her most. What happens when all those she stays close to slowly disappear, like the fading of a rainbow?
