What was the Changeling Queen like in the past? Was she always like always she is today? In fact, she wasn't. As a filly, she was called Princess Crystal, and she looked like a normal unicorn filly, with spell-made wings. Her horn untwisted, her hooves whole instead of holed, her wings made of gossamer and morning dew instead of... whatever they are made of now. This is what happened to change that, to change the little filly into a Selkie Queen.
"If you can make it in Fillydelphia, you can make it anywhere," or so the saying goes. When a young mare comes to the big city with dreams of being a reporter, she is instead thrust into a world of corruption and squalor where she will need the strength of friends to survive.
After the disastrous invasion of Canterlot, an injured changeling wakes up near a small cottage and is quickly discovered by two of the last ponies she ever wanted to see. Now, with the help of her new "friends," she has to remain undetected in a town high on changeling hysteria that would not hesitate to throw her in the Canterlot dungeons should her true nature be revealed.
Simple, right?
Too bad she couldn't have picked a worse form to stay inconspicuous...
