As the summer of 1008ALB was ending, the clouds of a looming conflict gathered over an unsuspecting Equestria. Within a year the storm would break, but for now farmers brought in the harvest of their idyllic land as usual and Princess Twilight Sparkle, the recent recipient of a PhD in Thaumaturgy, was pondering her next move in life when a letter arrived from her old mentor. Enclosed were the details of a simple training mission: Host the annual Canterlot Land's Giving fair.

But being royal is never so simple as a smile and a wave, especially when Princess Celestia is making secret retirement plans.

This is a short story set in the Quenta Roccolië timeline, written for the The Sixth Annual Equestria at War Writing Contest with the prompt 'summer, warmth, light, and the sun'. This story however, also functions standalone if set shortly prior to series nine of FiM.

The Prince of the Lake has dwelt in the northern land of Tailte Sioc since time immemorial, a figure of legend reaching out of the mists of the past to greet the present, but all things have a beginning. Stranded and alone in ancient days when even the Sisters were young, the last son of Fëanor must navigate the climate, wildlife and local feuds to build a future for himself, and perhaps others as well.

An Equestria at War story written for Fëanorian Week 2023, it is canon to the Quenta Roccolië.

In the aftermath of Tirek's rampage across the Equestrian heartlands in 1003ALB, the MP for North Meadshire addressed Parliament, questioning how things had been allowed to spiral so far out of control.
With communist revolutionaries in control of most of Severyana, Canterlot still bearing scars both physical and mental from the recent Changeling raid and hospitals now flooded with the injured, this proved to be the final straw that led to an investigation of the recent abysmal performance of the armed forces, spearheaded by the best and brightest civil servants in the land.
Four years on and with the glow of Hearth's Warming ebbing into memory, the Dotted Line Report was finally complete, and a copy had just found its way to the desk of Princess Luna...

If the first weeks of the Great War had raised concerns over the ability of Royal Armoured Corps of the Equestrian Army in comparison to their Changeling counterparts, the disastrous Battle of Talewood in early 1010ALB laid bare the inadequacy of their equipment beyond any doubt. An answer was needed and ideally, it would arrive three moons ago.
Now it falls to industrialists more used to tractors than tanks to come up with a new vehicle capable of standing up to the mechanised fury of the Changeling war machine, but with the Heer gaining ground every day, will anyone deliver a working model in time to turn the tide of the Great War?

Nestled into the southern slopes of the hill of Túna in the Noldorin capital of Tirion is the campus of the House of Learning, (in)famous across the four kingdoms of Eldamar as the preeminent centre of scientific and historical research on the continent, if not in all of Arda. Daily, the scholars therein push the frontiers of Elven knowledge in any field one would care to imagine, and some you really wouldn't.

Few outside this sheltered enclave of the terminally curious dare to enter the oft-refurbished research and development buildings, but the archives are another matter entirely. One can learn of wonders undreamt of (or forgotten) by mortal minds within those hallowed halls, thanks to the tireless efforts of the archivists, but to set foot within the xenology department is to visit another world entirely...

This story is a sequel to From the Dawn of Time

With the spring thaw of 6792AT (1008ALB in the Princess' Reckoning), the Socialist Republic of Skynavia launched a war that had been two decades in the brewing. With numerical parity, technological and doctrinal superiority and a devoted populace, the odds should have been vastly in their favour.
Reality however, is seldom so forgiving. Where the Skynavian command was divided and suffered from over-frequent reshuffles, the tribes united behind their Moot. Where the Skynavians expected to face spear waving barbarians, they met disciplined soldiers led by seasoned commanders.
This is not the story of the Battle of Firefly Bog, aid unlooked for in Braunles or even of a gruelling march through Ostfloy, however. This is a story about the aftermath of war in a world close to ignition point.

This story is a sequel to Prologue

Victor Strihooveski is not exactly a bundle of laughs, but he's a responsible old veteran of the Royal Guard, one of the few whose career survived the recent reforms. When Section Leader Rose Meadow is injured in a training accident, she leaves him in charge of the small unit for the week.
Stationed far behind the lines in Canterlot, the Guard might be getting back up to fighting condition for the first time in over a century, but that doesn't mean the road is without its hurdles. Events have eventuated and the newly-returned Rose needs informing, with tact if possible.

This is a short story set in the world of the acclaimed Hearts of Iron 4 mod, Equestria at War. It is the second entry in the Quenta Roccolië and has been reviewed by Clarke Otterton.
Rated teen for non-tag worthy mention of reproductive mechanisms and their results in a rather frank manner.

Mighty lords chart the course of their people, for better or worse, through good times and bad. Their decisions have ramifications that echo across continents and generations. It is in the light of those decisions that the stories of heroes are ultimately defined, whatever side of the lord's reign they may fall upon.
Books are written about those decisions and their consequences critiqued long after most of those lords are gone to dust. A few even consider the personal cost of those heavy choices.

Rose Meadow was the sort who would be all but forgotten by the relentless march of history, save perhaps as set decoration. She was a guard, a professional whose main job was to stand outside an office door and make sure documents weren't stolen and the occupant wasn't unduly interrupted. That said occupant happened to be a head of state didn't matter much, except perhaps so far as to give her a vague sense of pride in her work.
Yet for all their unimportance on the grand stage of history, a guard overhears much, especially when the office door isn't closed properly...
