Very very lean oneshot that is my first foray into pure comedy. It's also more of an opening scene for a longer story than the self-sustained vignettes I usually write. Consider it a filler upload while work continues on It Takes A Princess.

Twilight is still fresh from her coronation as sole Princess of Harmony. The junior Anarch of Chaos is even more clueless than she is. Together, they wrangle the responsibilities of their predecessors.

Screwball is hooves down the hardest horsey harlequin I've put pen to paper and picked to portray. Hopefully her dithering dialogue sounds suitably strange while still somewhat sensible, since her speech sits saddled with an awkwardly articulated alliteration affinity and a readiness for randomly recursive restless rambling.

After an earnest question from Sandbar results in a meltdown and tears, he's pointed away from Ocellus and towards the only Changeling who can advise him on how to make things right. Flurry Heart has requested a very unusual bedtime story. Shining Armor senses something is up, but he also knows that children occasionally come across feelings they don't have words for yet. Books can supply those words.

On a less cerebral note, hopefully there’s some entertainment to be had watching Shining Armor flounder through a novel that common sense dictates he shouldn't be reading to a foal before bed. That 'Thriller' tag is present in the banner for a reason.

By hook or by crook, Scootaloo has managed to land a job as the personal pedagogue for Princess Flurry Heart. Years as a Cutie Mark counselor have helped her bury any baggage she may have originally brought to the role, but perhaps a filly like Flurry needs Scootaloo the pony, not Scootaloo the professional social worker.

A big, Crystal Empire-sized thanks to Nitro Indigo for pre-reading and helping me get the tone of the fic just right. Scoots's portrayal needed to walk a very fine line, and Flurry Heart is a fun but challenging character to craft a personality for.
