Many years following the War of the Bell, Equestria is at rest, the land is filled with creatures living in peace, and friendship and the elements of harmony rein supreme. Princess Twilight Sparkle has grown in both maturity and wisdom as well as power, and, as royal advisor, Spike could not be happier with his life.

If only there wasn't the once-a-year event which seems to hurt his princess and friend so badly...

Why does she keep putting herself through this?

Rainbow Dash has told Fluttershy of her bad thoughts and obsessions, and has promised to tell Twilight too.

She doesn't know if she can do it.

Sometimes OCD doesn't look like washing, cleaning and organizing.

Sometimes it looks like running away from a friend because you're afraid you'll hurt them.

Rainbow Dash knows this and understands it. There is one friend she can always ask for help on those days. Hopefully, there will soon be more.

Nightmares are inherently awful, but sometimes they inspire words one has forgotten to say over the years.

Sunburst is about to find this out.

A slightly different take on my story “Truth Hurts”, in which Starlight and Sunburst go after their parents and overhear their conversation, learning some painful truths themselves.

After being told off by their children, Stellar Flare and Firelight discuss some hard truths and revelations from that conversation over tea together, and support one another through it.
